Rain last week

Last week was the first time we got rained on multiple times while on vacation. Every other year it was one time, and we would just leave the park.....This year I learned that the world doesn't end if you have to put on a poncho, and keep riding rides. We had tons of fun, and it was a lot cooler. So, next year, and every future trip, I probably wont waste as much time worrying about it the week before the trip.

It has pretty much rained on every trip to Disney I've taken so I just stay in the park when it rains. I'm glad you had fun even in the rain.

We had 10 days there last Sept in what must have been record-breaking rainfall. Every single day, and for hours at a time. And still hotter than...well, very hot. We sweated and squished our way through everything and the only big disappointment was not seeing the MNSSHP parade. We waited for the second parade, which ended up being cancelled. But we rode 7DMT multiple times that night in the pouring rain and it was utterly glorious, hilarious, and more memorable than the same ride under perfect evening skies on our last night there.

We loved how every store in DTD provided umbrella bags at the door in an effort to reduce indoor puddles. We struck happy conversations with strangers under awnings and patio covers.

Best of all was our lunch at the Three Broomsticks in that other park. While we were soaking up the haunted atmosphere, the fiercest electrical storm I'd seen in years hit the area. The special effects inside were totally enhanced by Mother Nature's display outside. We lingered long over that lunch, but could not wait out the rain. It became the unofficial theme of our trip. My DGSs even came home with new Duffy Bears, complete with Mickey rain ponchos that matched their own.

Thanks for the stories! We are driving to WDW right now (I'm the passenger in the car) and my boyfriend is SO depressed about rain all week. We've been going to WDW every year for 10 years and never had rain so this will be a first. We are SO excited for MNSSHP but a little sad about the rain. You're stories are helping. Thank you. And I'd love to hear more good experiences of WDW in the rain!

Not to sound like a downer, but I've been to Disney during hot sunny weather in September, and hot and rainy in September. Rain at Disney sucks. I would take the hot and sunny any day.

We went last week 9/12-9/19.The only bummer about rain is not taking the camera out as often to take pics. And for us Test Track was down but I don't think it was related to the rain. It rained on the first full day we were there but we managed, took in the shops, Haunted Mansion, Tiki Room (which was new for us) and Jungle Cruise. Ponchos were helpful. It also drizzled on our Epcot morning but didn't need the ponchos that day. The weather channel hour by hour changed all the time. It could seriously look outside like its gonna do something and then just dissipate. You have to take every moment for what it is. The good news is I didn't find it gross hot. The humidity wasn't bad, we've had it worse up in CT.
