Rain is here at DL (1/5), plan accordingly

I was at DLR in an absolute downpour two days out of three on our last long weekend trip. A day drowning at DLR is still better than being at work, haha.

What kind of waterproof pants do you guys have? I'd be interesting in getting a pair of those for myself and DH, tbh.

check out big 5, any sports store, Coleman makes a nice walk in the park set pants that are not the rigid construction variety but still stiff.

wow, you can really see the down pour on the cam now. I am going to the store to get some rain gear. Though it might be fine by the weekend. Still, I will be prepared. I actually hope it pours. I haven't been there during a heavy rain, only during a light sprinkle and that didn't keep anyone away. lol.

Looking at the wind and rain on the cam right now, when it's like this, how much is actually still open and running? I imagine indoor rides keep going. But Matterhorn is inside and outside with the track. Small world boats would be soaked, so do those 2 still run? But in general, should I just expect ALL outside rides to be closed like Jungle Cruise, rollercoasters, etc?

I think they'll be open during the rain. I know that RSR goes down in the rain sometimes... if there are thunderstorms I would expect them to close the outdoor rides.

Right now the DL app is listing the following rides as bring "temporarily closed"

Alice
Autopia
Big Thunder Ranch
Gadget's Go Coaster
Golden Zephyr
Goofy's Sky School
Mad Tea Party
Mr. Toad's
Pinocchio
RSR
Roger Rabbit
Storybook boats
Tuck and Roll Drive 'Em Buggies

No idea why some of them are closed, I would not think Mr. Toad or Pinocchio would be closed because of rain but those are the ones listed as closed right now.

fine by the weekend??? National news this morning said that Friday and Saturday will be worse than what just arrived/left

I have Gage storm runner pants. They are made for wearing on fishing boats. I wear running tights underneath them. It's been pouring rain here today at Disneyland and they have kept me completely dry. I paid 46 dollars for them. Make sure whatever you buy you still have enough room underneath them so you can wear some thin sweatpants so your legs don't get clammy.

Hmmmm.....hope that works out...they showed all those folks sand bagging, telling the TV reporter they were getting ready for the next round and they showed this weather map on a time release into Friday and Saturday

Target/Walmart nearby have the best dealios on rain gear. Might find a poncho at DollarTree or 99cents Store

The $10 (adult) and $9 (kids) Disneyland ponchos are absolute garbage. Both mine and my wife's broke within the first few hours. With hers, the button tore through, with mine, the front ripped straight down the middle. If you're wearing a backpack, they are an absolute pain in the butt to take off when your go on rides. I know that, at the Candy Cane Inn where we're staying, they've got umbrellas and ponchos for $5 each.

....

Doh, I have been looking at the app for ride times from all often, yet completely didn't think to look at it during the rain. lol. Thanks for the reminder. Yeah, odd that 2 completely indoor rides would be closed.

odd, weather.com shows partly sunny on Friday, high chance of rain Sat, and maybe rain on Sun. So I figured it won't be as bad as it has been today and yesterday. Either way, I just bought our family $90 worth of rain suits... so I kind of want it to rain now. Just enough to hopefully deter some crowds, but not enough to keep rides closed the whole day. lol.

Knott's Berry Farm closed today- 1/5 due to inclement weather. Just a heads up.

When I worked at Knott's in the late 90's, we used to close if there was less than 1000 people in the park 2 hours after opening. I remember literally counting down and waiting for the announcement to come in over the radio....
