We are going to Disneyland the week of May 20th. I have always been a fan of The Rain Forest Cafe. Since it is closing I am considering going one last time. There is 6 of us possibly 7. We did out first character meal at the Plaza Inn and really enjoyed it. I have 3 boys (ages 9-4), so I know they would be happy either way. Due to time and cost we can only do one. Any thoughts?

I am going to get some push back but I actually would consider Rain Forest with the boys. I was just looking at the menu earlier and it really isn't bad! The prices seem very reasonable to me, with kids meals all under $7 for breakfast and adult meals between 12-15ish. I think you could easily get out of there under a $100, FAR less then a character meal AND then set aside a bit of mad money for some of the new Pixar Fest treats!

Have you seen the youtube videos where they invited the media to come see all the special Pixar foods, there are quick pan over shots and some a little longer to explain each item in detail but there was a lot more then I realized.

Treats like boot floats to the Monsters inc popcorn buckets to shape shifting corn dogs to color changing(?!) pasta to alien macaroons and so much more. Holy bananas. :magnify:

When I was younger, there was a Rain Forest in San Francisco. We used to go there for birthdays. I want to introduce my boys to the fun that is Rain Forest. Thank you for your opinion! I really appreciate it!

If there is a character (or more than one) your boys want to meet who is really only available to meet at one of the breakfasts, then that might take priority over RC. But if your boys are open to meeting whoever comes their way in the parks (and since M&Gs are relatively easy at DLR), then do RC before it closes, especially if there isn't one near your hometown. Make sure to take lots of photos to commemorate this event! Even if, by some chance, RC rebuilds somewhere else in the area, you'll be able to say you ate at the DTD location before it closed.

RFC would probably be cheaper, but I find the food to be so mediocre (and still over priced)-plus last time we were there, which was several years ago, I thought it was pretty bedraggled and needed maintenance. Other folks love it-just see the reaction the board to it closing-so you might definitely have a different experience! You could just go there for a soda and nachos or something and then be able to do both.

I vote Plaza Inn only because there are Rainforest Cafes all over the place. You might also consider Surf's Up at the Paradise Pier - character breakfast but with Mickey and surfing characters -- geared a little to slightly older kids.

Thank you. Still not sure. Because of my kid's ages we are not going to any of the hotels. We are staying offsite, but I feel going to eat at the hotels would waste too much time.

Well, it’s notnreally much farther to the hotels than RFC-a couple minutes to DLH, and GCH is closer.

Character breakfast. I ate at RFC for lunch last week and unless I was eating a burger or a salad, the prices were $25+ for an entree. Not sure how breakfast prices are in comparison.

Fyi: there are only two stalls in the women's restroom in the back of Rfc. I assume it's the same for the men's. Not sure if that will make a difference to you...

Just wanted to give everyone an update. Thank you so much for your suggestions and opinions. We went with the breakfast at the Plaza Inn. I asked DH and he said he enjoyed it and i could book it. When Mr. Save All the Money says spend money...you do it!!!!! :lmao:I am hoping one day there will be another Rain forest I can take the kids too. For now, Minnie's it is!!!! party:
