Is there any difference between the location in AK and the one in Downtown Disney? Is one better than the other? My DD 10 wants to eat there in January and I just realized there were 2 locations:confused3

No difference....Restaurants are the same...

Only difference I can think of is there is a cute, little outside area at the AK location when you enter through the AK park entrance...

Just keep in mind you can go to the AK location without going into the park but you will have to pay for parking if you are not staying onsite...Downtown parking is free.

Yes they are both just alike, same food ,same animals, same attached gift store and the same long wait time for your table.:cool1:

There is one difference: the Downtown Disney location does not serve breakfast and the Animal Kingdom location does. I think that breakfast is their best meal.

Oh you are right about the breakfast! Good point....

And remember....They both DO NOT accept the dining plan ;)

I am pretty sure you can make advanced reservations at AK, don't think you can at Downtown Disney.:confused3

Is it necessary for an ADR? Is this place hard to get into for dinner like all the other WDW restaurants?

If you really want to go there, you should. I have seen crowds waiting for tables, at DTD especially.

I agree...Make the ADR if you really want to go and don't want to wait hours for a table...My friend went on a Thursday at 6:00 without an ADR and did not get seated until after 9.

Also keep in mind, that for both RFC locations as well as T-Rex, call Landry's directly (you can Google RFC for the digits). They only release a small(ish) portion of their availability to Disney Dining and as such, booking through Disney can fill up while their own reservations sit empty.
