We are doing DL 23rd-25th looks like rain, few questions we are doing the Christmas Tour on the 23rd at 3pm will the prrades run in the rain? will rides close? any thoughts or tips would be great.

We are here right now and it has poured several times. tips - ponchos, a few for each person. we bought them at walmart before we arrived. Boot dryer- we didn't bring one but wish we had. we put our shoes on the heater but they didn't completely dry. The fireworks were cancelled. I'm not sure about the parades. No line - everyone rode the big rides (space mtn, star tours) multiple times with no wait. If you have little kids, be prepared for them to want to leave. DD6 was done after a few hours of being soaked and cold. Her and i went back to the hotel and hung out in the hottub.

Where are you seeing rain in the forecast? I've been stalking the weather for our NYE trip, and on the 2 week forecast it shows 0% chance of rain starting Dec 23 going until the 29, and in the 70's every day.

For rain tips, I've got plenty. We were there on a miserably rainy day last year. We went for a day trip for DD's 5th birthday.

#1- Get ponchos before you go. First, we bought the cheaper Disney Ponchos. DD's ripped just putting it on the first time, so we exchanged it. Both DD's and DH's ripped several times throughout the day, and we kept having to exchange. Finally we upgraded DD's to the more expensive Minnie poncho, but that one is not very long, didn't cover her legs at all, so she got soaked. But at least it didn't rip. Then, Disney eventually ran out of ALL ponchos, I couldn't believe it. So for SURE, buy before you go.

#2- Parades, Fireworks, Fantasmic were all cancelled that day.

#3- Hit up the Tiki room show, Innoventions, and all the indoor stuff. I actually appreciated the rain a little because it forced us to see some of the things we never would've paid much attention to before.

Yes, I panicked reading this and checked again. My weather forecast shows 79 on Christmas Day. Which I think I might rethink my packing again. I might include a pair of shorts that I wasn't going to pack. We are still packing boot dryers and ponchos though.

Being from Washington I know we can handle the rain. I'm kind of thinking it would be nice to maybe clear the parks out. Bad, I know. :thumbsup2

I have no idea where you are finding reports of rain Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? So far everything shows good weather, on the cold side. If rain does come, that's great due to do less crowds.

The weather report here
http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/Anaheim+CA+USCA0027 changed as of today. Up until yesterday it predicted rain for Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th, as did a few other sites (I have been checking almost daily). We even bought small umbrellas yesterday AFTER checking the report in the morning.

I'm glad to see the change, but will go ahead bring the umbrellas and ponchos just in case.

I am so happy! just looked and all sun I was looking last night and it was rain and rain all good so thanks for all your tips and Marry Christmas :santa:

I'm so happy the weather changed! We are doing the same tour as you. There will be 12 of us.

We were there this past Monday and it poured all day long and was COLD! We were prepared with our own ponchos from the camping section at Target. They were the perfect size for our small kids (9 & 6) and tarped the umbrella stroller for our 2 yr. old perfectly. The kids didn't get wet at all except for their shoes. DH and I had the Dland ponchos and they ripped several times and the sleeves were way too short so our arms were wet.

We spent the morning walking on rides and drinking cup after cup of hot chocolate and coffee. We left the parks for a hot lunch on Harbor (Mimis!) and then went to the hotel to dry and warm up. All the kids changed their socks and shoes and I dried our coats with a hairdryer, lol

The BEST BEST tip I can offer for a cold rainy day, the eating area of Rancho del Zaco (or whatever the Mexican rest. is called) is covered in some places and they have space heaters AND they serve hot chocolate. We sat there for about an hour and it was so relaxing and warm.

Dollar Store ponchos are not made with heavy enough plastic however black leaf bags are heavy enough if you wear a sweat shirt And a huge winter coat. For the kids you can trim the bottom to their height. The wind cuts thru fleece or sweaters.

Mittens need to be water proof! Magic Gloves get wet and freeze your hands when the wind cuts thru the knit! I could wring the rain out of them!!

Dollar Store ponchos tear to bits. Disney ones are really short and expensive!

Take 2 pair of shoes to wear every other day. Take 2 pair of sox per day, one for the parks and one to change into back at the hotel to warm up in!!

The cold and wind take alot of energy out you, so do naps with the kids. Go back to the hotel to warm up!
