We are taking our first trip in October and from what I'm hearing, rain showers are not out of the norm in the afternoon. We are taking our 2 boys, ages 5 & 9. Nothing is worse than wet tennis shoes...what does everyone do when you get stuck in a rain shower and aren't able to make it inside quick enough? How do you avoid "squish squish squish"?

I would have in my backpack a pair of water shoes everyone. when clouds build change to them and tennis shoes go in backpack. also if your boys are like my grandsons, they will have to splash in every puddle after the rain. also do this for Kali River Rapids so we are not walking around with wet shoes even though we are usually soaked

My kids each have a "mini" backpack and I will have a large backpack. Everybody brings their own flip flops. Useful for Splash Mountain and KRR too.

My 2 little boys (6 and 9) wear keens sandals. They dry quick and are never a problem when wet.

My family wears crocs... We love them... We buy them about 6 weeks before Disney to break them in.... Then they are great rain or shine! We feel its important for newer crocs though but otherwise they can get slick when wet if they are really worn. Have a great trip!

If you stuff a dry towel in any sports shoe it will be dry by morning. Have fun.

We bring a cheap pair of old navy flip flops. They are very thin and easy to carry. Through them on when the rain comes. There's nothing worse than wet shoes and socks.

I wear Chacos sandals, but DD wears sneakers a lot. It's too hot to me for them! She'll wear Reefs too though (the men's ones, they're comfy).
