I think I've read that RSR stops running when it rains? If that's true, what happens if you have a Fastpass for the period of time while its shut down? Will they honor it later in the day (or even the next day -I know that's unlikely!)? Are you just out of luck?

Same day, typically, yes.

2 years ago we had a FP for it, and it was down during our window. We were told to try back in 2 hours; it was down again at that time. After 3 attempts, it was closing time, and they gave us a next-day FP for it. However, they said it was only because they remembered us trying multiple times, and the ride went die so much that day.

I wouldn't "expect" a next-day FP, and know if it happens, you got some pixie dust!

Thanks, Lalasmama! That was very helpful! Now that the forecast is showing it might rain when we are on our trip, I need to factor that information into the best way to organize our mornings. I wasn't sure whether getting a FP for RSR would be worth our time if there was a chance we wouldn't be able to use it. Knowing they try to honor it makes the decision making process much smoother!

If you have not yet given your fp to the ride operators then they most likely honor them later in the day. But if you are in line and have redeemed the fp you are SOL. This has happened to me many times on rsr. The most frustrating was waiting 30+ mins even with a fp and were were literally the next ones to load and the ride goes down...fp wasted. As well as all that time in line.

They WILL give you a readmit pass in this situation, but you sometimes have to ask. They will not automatically start handing them out so they don't get mobbed by the entire crowd in line.

They've never offered it to me and I've even asked! One time when we were next to load and one time when we literally had JUST handed out fp so now the regular line is merged with the fp line. They ride went offline and I I asked if we could get them back. He said nope and if I chose to leave the line that was up to me and I'd basically lose my fp.

I have no idea about the RSR policy, but this same thing happened to us at Splash Mountain this summer. We were nearly to the loading platform and waited it out with the rest of the crowd for 30 minutes, but they continued to say they had no idea how long it would be before it came back up. No fastpasses or anything.

Yeah, they don't always offer a re admit. After a long delay at Indy last year once we had turned in our FP, Indy went down. We were in the boarding area and asked if there was any recourse. They looked at me like I was nuts. After a bit they gave me a rider swap pass, but they were very reluctant to do so.

I have been flat out denied any pass at all on Splash even after asking a couple CMs. I was walked off Alice and got nothing. So you can ask, but don't expect anything.

When we have had this happen, we have gotten a readmit, however, you needed your AP/ticket to have them copy the numbers.

We got a "readmit" FP (no actual paper FP, they scanner our tickets, and when we came back, they recognized it without any problems) on TSMM but nothing at all when Alice went down on us the next day (very frustrating... we wasted half of our early admission waiting, and it broke down just before we boarded). Don't know if that's up to the individual cast member, or if not every one of them is authorized to do it.

DW and I rode RSR in the rain. We had just loaded into the car, and looked ahead to just outside the loading area...it was pouring rain, like a literal shower. They did not stop the ride and we drove that whole first part getting drenched. By the time we made it to our race the rain had stopped. This experience tells me they do not stop the ride for rain. As for the FPs, I have gone to redeem my FP when the ride is broken down. The cast members always tell us to hold on to our FPs and they will be honored later when the ride is back up.

I've had a similar experience. We were there for EMH one morning in the rain (more a steady day-long rain than a torrential downpour), and the CMs said as long as the ride will run they keep it going in the rain. It did break down for about half an hour right after we'd gotten off, but they got it up and running again. It was actually pretty fun in the rain! But I do recommend rain pants and waterproof/resistant shoes if you can find them!

I've also gotten a readmit pass for TSMM and Indy, but not for other attractions. I think it just varies by attraction, by the CMs on duty, and (probably) the nature of the problem with the attractions. While readmit passes are nice, I don't think you can count on getting one.

I've only gotten one myself, and that was on space mountain. Same kind of goes for WDW, we got walked off of the great movie ride (first time we were ever walked off) and nothing but a sorry, try again later.

Just a note, the FP machines will not distribute FP if the ride is closed. If the ride is running when you enter the park, you may just want to go ride it right away, just in case it rains and is down the rest of the day.

The very first time we tried to go on RSR it broke down and our choice was to wait for it to restart or leave. We had used FP, but they wouldn't let us have them back because they said there was no way they could know who had entered the line with a FP or not. They did not offer readmit passes.

I think they offer readmit passes most often when the ride will be down for a longer period of time. We've gotten them a few times including when we were evacuated off of Big Thunder Mountain. But we've had rides break down many times, and generally they tell us that we can choose whether to wait or not. I think in those cases you are not likely to get a readmit pass.
