Just found out that the Disneyland railroad will be down for rehab during My trip(02/05/07 to 03/29/07) :sad1: . I didn't think I would miss the railroad so much, but it's such a relaxing way to slow down and get around the park. Is anybody else gonna miss the RR? Just wonderin'

Well, it should be open by the time we get there but if it weren't, I would miss it.

My boys are train fanatics (mostly Thomas) and it's a great way to sit and relax for a while, while still taking in the sights.

I am really bummed the train will be down for our upcoming trip. It would have been the first time for my son to travel on the railroad and I know he would have LOVED it. He is really into trains right now. Oh well I figure there will be so many other new things for him to experience. Next time we visit the train will be a new experience for him and I can look forward to that.

It is always disappointing when a favorite ride is down during a Disney visit. Unfortunately, that is most likely to happen during low season and is one of the downsides to low season. This link talks about the tradeoffs: "HydroGuy's High Season/Off Season Tradeoff Rule" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199852

dont forget KC Jr Railroad :) Its miniture version of the Railroad train :)

We were so bummed when we saw that the RR would be down during our March visit. DS's love it and so do us adults after a long day. It never seems like something you will miss, but for us it is a must do while we are there.

I'll certainly miss the DL railroad not running, in addition to Mr. Toad, Tom Sawyer Island and Splash Mountain. . .but I knew they'd be down during my Spring Break trip and I would rather go with some rides down than not go at all (can't go other times due to college)! :teeth:

Ds loves the railroad. We take trips around the world several times during our visits. He's big into trains. He would be crushed if it was down.

I'm so sorry:sad1: We love the RR. We had a fun experience on it a couple weeks ago. We caught it at the New Orleans station at closing time and rode it around the park. At each station, the conductor got out and locked the turnstiles. By the time we reached Main Street, DL had been "closed" for 1/2 an hour and we got to see the back areas of the park deserted. That's an eerie feeling. DD (4) was looking for the princesses in their nightgowns because I told her they were off to bed. I love little Disney moments

I was really bummed as well. I knew some would be closed down and none of the others bother me that are scheduled except for the train. It's such a "must do" type of ride at any park I think, esp DL ;) And it gives you a nice "lay of the land" when you are unfamilar with the place. I know i can go on the monorail but that doesn't go all the way around and is much faster isn't it?
My son is a train fanatic too but at least he can go on the little train.
I won't let it dampen our fun though !
