Just curious if anyone has dined here recently and what their opinions were. I have made ressies for dinner at Ragland Road in September. Having never dined here before, I was just looking for some feedback.

Thank you for any and all responses.:thumbsup2

I have dined there within the last 6 months with my family and we thought the food was very good. We were there in the evening and they had a singer doing Irish songs....we thought he was terrific and would definitely go back.

I was going to link the dining for you, but could not get on, maybe you can check the restaurant offerings later: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm

We have dined at Raglan Road three times since they opened and every time the food was very good, service was good, and entertainment was excellent. If you want to experience the entertainment then make a reservation for 8:30pm or later and ask for a table near the bar so you can see as well as hear.

We have reservations for a late day visit during our upcoming trip.

We've eaten there 5 times now I believe.
Food has been excellent each time, even when their menu change forced us to try some different items.
Service has been excellent 2 times, good 2 times, and poor 1 just time.

Just got home on Friday from a trip to WDW - this was the second time in less than a year that we had dinner at Ragland Road and it was excellent, once again.

Great food, great service, and great music! This has become one of our "must do" restaurants at WDW.

We ate here last Sunday and it was out of this WORLD fantastic!:dance3: I am still having dreams about that mushroom soup - OMG, it was heavenly. The crock o' pate was enough for about 6 people and the fried scallops were divine.

My father had the Pie in the Sky and raved about it. I had Paddy's pork and it was great but the best meal was my husband's....he had Kevin's ham. Yum, yum, YUMMY!! They also have wonderful children's meals here and the best french fries ever.

When I get my pictures uploaded I will do a full report with pics.

We've been there four times now. We loved it the first three trips.

However, about two weeks ago we dined there and I was disappointed. One whole section was closed and yet the section we were in was jammed with tables full of toddlers who were very loud. It was a very uncomfortable dinner and service seemed slow although since I was dying to get out of there I may not be objective on that. This was early enough in the night that entertainment had not started yet.

In addition, I had Kevin's Kudos which used to be delicious. This time it just seemd like dried out American ham.:sad2:

I have to poll the troops to see if we will return next trip. My first inclination was to skip it next trip but we really enjoyed it the first three times.

Is it possible they actually have authentic Irish/English chips?! Made from hand-sliced fresh potatos?! :dance3: If so, to call them "fries" would be an insult.

I had Fish and Chips last Fall. The chips were shaped like American fries but tasted very fresh...that trace of sweetness that signals freshness to me.

These were the fatest "fries" I have ever seen and the taste and consistency was out of this world.....really. They were nice and crisp on the outside and I just couldn't get enough of them! My four year old kept slapping my hand everytime I went in for a "steal"....:lmao: :lmao:

Just as an FYI (in case anyone tries doing a search for it), it's actually RAGLAN - no D at the end.

We haven't eaten there recently, but did visit in Jan. '06. We really liked it. The food was good and the atmosphere and decor were great.

We've been twice and the food has been amazing both times. The last time though the serivce was really bad and slow. I think it was becasue they were short staffed as part of the restaurant was closed down due to servers. That being said- I am willing to overlook it for the delicious bread pudding.

We went last month and really enjoyed it.

DH and I got the scallop forest to share and mom and dad both got the drunk chicken. The chicken was a little dry, but the scallops were yummy (but really not enough scallops for the price.) Dad got the fish and chips which he loved, mom got the sesame seed haddock, which when it came out she made a funny face at, but when she tasted it she said it tasted much better than it looked. DH got the steak which was ok and I got the It's Not Bleedin' Chowder. At first it was ok but, once the flavors mixed it was really good. The mussels were too big for me to eat but there was plenty of other fish and scallops to eat instead. Dad and DH had pints of Guiness and I had the beer flight. I liked the Smithwicks (?) the best so I ordered a pint after I finished the flight. They all had irish coffee after the meal. For dessert mom and dad both got an apple pie/tart thing and DH and I split the sampler. It had the bread and butter pudding, the dunbrody kiss and I think a cheesecake thing. OMG! I would just come back here just for the dessert. It was fantastic! Just before our desserts came, the band began to play and we had a great time singing and clapping along. This was definitely a great night and we will return.

Do they always have the music, or only after a certain time?

We have always enjoyed Raglan Road. The bread and butter pudding is awesome!

Hey,

OMG I'm starting to drool just thinking about it!!

Last August I canceled my ADR because my girls 10 and 8 wanted to eat elsewhere...but this year...I made my ADR at exactly 180 days out and I'm not canceling no way, no how. Come on October, hurry up I'm starving!!

The music starts at 9 PM.

I had an excellent meal in May. I had the scallops for an app, fish & chips for my entree, and the bread & butter pudding for dessert. The scallops were great; nice & juicy; but a bit large for 1 person. The fish & chips were excellent. The bread & butter pudding was incredible! Too bad that I was too full from the rest of my meal. I did manage to eat about 1/3 - 1/2 of it but I had to roll myself out afterwards! :rotfl2:

We ate there in March and LOVED it! My family is Irish and some of the meals were a little fluffed up versions of Irish food, but they were very good. I loved the soda bread with the reduction sauce (this was better than my grandmothers). I had the fried cheese ( I think it was goat cheese) and the salmon which was really good. I was a little weary at first because of some of the reviews I read here, but I would go it was one of the best meals we had there!

Yes the music starts at 9, but if you are looking for a quite meal don't go then. We were seated right near the "fireplace" and it was really loud, but very good music.

Hope you enjoy it! Raglan Road has a pretty good kids menu, too.

I liked them a lot. I just like the counter service next door better. Since I am a fish and chips girl that would be obvious.
