What is everyone's favorite dish at Raglan Road. I plan to visit next summer and need some ideas.

Also. are there certain times when the Irish dancing performances take place? Where is the best seating for that?

We tried to go last year but it didn't happen for one reason or another (too many dining places, so little time!), so following the thread for some ideas as we are determined to eat there this year. However, we only want to go when the music/dancing is NOT on, as I've read it's very loud, which is not for us, but I'm desperate to try the three times a boxty and the bread and butter pudding. According to the website the music/dancing is on from 4pm on weekdays and from midday at weekends.

Can't go wrong with the Bangers & Booz and the amazing Bread and Butter Pudding.

The dancing takes place in the main seating area. We have had a couple of meals in the room and a meal or 2 out of it. As with all restaurants, you can request to sit either near the dancing or away from the dancing, but it really comes down to whatever table is available. The main dining area may have the entertainment, but I find the acoustics to be pretty awful in there. It is easier to have a conversation at your table the farther from the main dining room you get.

Weekend brunch means the music and dance begin at noon.

Otherwise it begins at 4.

However, we only want to go when the music/dancing is NOT on, as I've read it's very loud, which is not for us,

You can request to sit in the back room.

OP we tend to go for weekend brunch and I order whatever is vegetarian. And haven’t been disappointed. Except for when they got rid of something I liked.

Reserve through opentable for better times and no last minute change fees.

We had a coupon for the mussels, and they were very good.

My daughter, the picky eater, loved the Young Shepherd's Pie.

My teen son loved the lamb.

My duck was good not great.

I also recommend the beer flights, if you're into that sort of thing...

We made our reservations through Open Table and were seated promptly. We sat in the main room and enjoyed the music and dancing up close on two sides of our table. It was a lot of fun!

The scallop forest and shepherd's pie are both amazing. So are the Guinness ribs and the Dalky duo sausages. The fish & chips are good, but nothing special - just solid, classic fish & chips. ANd I loved the salmon potato pancakes at brunch.

The only thing I've had there that I didn't like was the strawberry and apple crumble (which changes seasonally). It wasn't that it tasted bad, but it had a weird chunky, not-quite-cooked-soft texture that didn't work for the dish.

The entertainment schedule is on their website and kept updated often.

I absolutely adore Raglan Road! We ate there for the first time last spring and it is now a must do for us. Such a fun atmosphere, and food that is to die for. I'm not sure the exact times for the music, but we had a reservation at 8 on a Friday night, showed up for it about 7:30, and the music and dancing was well under way then (and continued the whole time until we left). As far as the food goes, I don't think you can really go wrong with anything, we've loved everything we've had. The things that immediately come to mind are the Dalky Duo sausages are an absolute must, and you can't leave without having the Bread and Butter Pudding as well!

Have a great time! I hope you love it as much as we do!

The Shrimp Risotto. I think 5 years ago they had a lobster risotto. Wish they would bring that back. Their pie of the day is also high on the list.

I love the Shepherd's Pie and the Kiss Before Shrimp. Yes, it's loud, but not unbearable. We were a party of 7 earlier this month and everyone could hear each other just fine. If you're going for the entertainment, ask to be seated in the main area...I've gotten my request every time. If you're seated in a side room, one or two dancers also come in and do a short performance in those rooms as well, so you do get a taste of it if you can't see the main stage.

The Cashel entree salad is good. As are the fish and chips. The dark bread and dipping sauce are great and there arereasonably priced wines. We will only sit in main section with band and dancing...otherwise why go? We always tell the check in person that’s where we want to sit. Sometimes we have to wait a bit longer. Well worth it.

Braised Be. Beef - so good! Loved the presentation of the dish too.

Braised beef! Followed by Bread Pudding!!! It is loud, but fun atmosphere. Not exactly a romantic spot, but great evening!

Thanks everyone for the responses. I am excited about going and have already made reservations for eight
