What does everyone think of this place? I'll have a 4 and 7 yr old with me.

Also, how do I get to Downtown Disney from the Polynesian?

We ate there in Dec. of '06. We really enjoyed our meal. I had the maple glazed salmon and my husband had some sort of steak. Other notibles, the goat cheese starter was really good and I LOVED the bread and butter pudding. Other than the mashed potatoes, everything was awesome!

I would suggest that w/ kids your age, that you try to go a little earlier in the evening, only because it can get really loud and crowded as the night goes on.

Getting to DTD from any hotel is easy, there will be a Downtown Disney bus at the Poly bus stop! Have agreat trip!

We went to Raglan Road with our two daughters 3 and 4 this September and we had a great time! The food was absolutely fantastic and the music was great. You can go early with the kids, but you will miss out on the music and the dancer. If your kids are good later then go then. also it is not a fast meal. It easily took us almost 2 hours from beginning to end.

But the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. You can check my dining reveiw linked in my signature for pictures and a full review.

We love Raglan Road! We found the food, the service and the atmosphere all to be wonderful! They have a pretty good kid's menu, too. If you have an early ADR, it is a very laid-back atmosphere. For a later ADR you will get a more upbeat atmosphere with "live" entertainment. We can't wait to get back to RR! ps Stay away from The Shepard's Pie

I loved this restaurant, but a while back someone posted a review that absolutely upset me terribly.....so much so that I am not sure that I want to recommend it anymore..

This was one of our favorite places to go- until the last two visits we had. Our service was really really bad and slow. With a cranky two year old in tow, I think that will be our last time for awhile. My ds6 likes the menu and the atmosphere- esp if you get a table early and eat outside (we are aslseep by the time the dancer steps on stage!). If you do go- be sure not to miss the bread and butter dessert pudding

We love it, but service has never been quick (we were never in a hurry because of the band and beer). It might be better earlier in the evening?

also be sure the menu appeals to you and the kids - some people don't care for that cuisine.

Poly will have a bus that will take you to Downtown Disney.

Unfortunately we had one of the most horrific experiences ever at this establishment. A staff member was suspiciously insistant that we pay only using "a credit card"??? That is only part of the story but I was suspicious of some kind of credit card/identity theft. I have reported this.

We ate here when we were in Orlando a couple weeks ago. One of the worst meals of our trip. We went because we'd read good reviews but were very disappointed.

The food ranged from good to terrible. The drunken chicken skewers were nothing special flavorwise but at least not dried out. The smoked salmon appetizer was the highlight of the evening. Nothign to complain about here and I wish I'd just had this and a Harp and called it good for the evening.

The maple glazed salmon is wrapped in smoked salmon. THis made it REALLY REALLY salty. Horribly so(had to have been overseasoned on top of the cured protein cooked iwth the dish). Plus it was way overcooked. Terrible terrible. Way to ruin a perfectly lovely piece of fish.

The Pork loin dish( it's got some cutesy name I don't remember...it's stuffed with some kind of sausage) coudl ahve been good but again overcooked way past its prime. Dry and tasteless. The leek and mashed potato puree underneath was could have been good but again TOO MUCH SALT.

Portions are ridiculously large.

Service....horrible. SLOW SLOW SLOW. We eat out a lot and have both worked in the industry in front and back of house. We're usually pretty easy going about service issues but this was just ridiculous.

Maybe it was an off evening but we left very unimpressed and regretting our choice for the evening.

This is one of those places people either love or hate on this board. My rule for everywhere is try it yourselves...it may fit your family!

Personally, we did try it once and have not returned. This was when it first opened...perhaps positive changes have taken place since. Our main complaint was slow, and unfriendly service...the undercooked shrimp did not help the experience! I always think we may have caught a bad day.

Each to his own, give it a whirl at least once...it is a very pretty place!

Early ADRs at RR are definitely kid-friendly with The Balloon Guy and/or face painters.

We made our first visit in August with boys 8 and 5. They enjoyed themselves and really like the "manager" who stopped by the table and did card tricks.

We only had drinks and appetizers while the kids had kids meals. So I can't comment on the dinners. Overall I thought it was a bit expensive (even by Disney Standards) for what we all consumed.

If you go and like Guinness, try a Guinness bomb. Heck even if you don't like Guinness you should try one.

It's not a place that will be on our regular rotation of places to eat but I would say go.

we had lunch at RR on our last disney day (had to burn those DDP credits and do some shopping!) and it was one of the best meals of the trip! the service was outstanding and the food even better! it may have helped that it was not crowded (but not empty)... we loved it!

We ate there 2 weeks ago and had a great evening. The food was excellent, service attentive but not hovering, atmosphere fun, and the dancer and music great.
DH and DS shared a "Scallop Forest - forks of scallops served with a lime dipping sauce". They enjoyed the scallops a lot and the presentation was unique. I started with the "Seared Beef Salad - With a horseradish drizzle served with mixed greens and crispy fried onions" which was also great. The Beef was cooked exactly as I like it. I was susrprised, however by the size of the beef portion in relationship to the greens. I expected a salad with a little beef and this was a really large serving of beef. I would not have ordered the "Serious Sirloin Steak - 10 oz sirloin topped with Irish whiskey glazed, drizzled with gresh basil oil. Served with mashed potatoes and topped with crispy fried onion strings". If I had realized the serving of beef on the appetizer I would have ordered something different as my entree. It was great though. Cooked as I like it and tender. Lots of onion strings too.
DH and DS each had "Sod... The Stew - It's beef stew infused with a hint of Guinness". Again, a unique presentation and it was good.
I don't remember what we had for desert.
I purposely made a late ADR (8:30) so that we could enjoy the entertainment and we were not disappointed. The Irish Dancer was excellent and the band was great. Our table was right at the stage and I was afraid that it would be too loud, but it was not.
All in all, we had a great evening. Good Food, beautiful atmosphere, and good entertainment.

We dined with our 4 and 10 year olds last month at 8:00 and it was fine. They enjoyed the Irish band and especially the dancer. It kept them entertained and occupied, and I didn't have to worry about my kids being the loudest thing in the restaurant. As a little bonus, for the rest of the trip my kids kept trying to recreate the dance.

It is a pub, but it's a Disney-fied pub, much like Rose and Crown, meaning it's very kid friendly. Perhaps the atmosphere in the bar area is different, but they wouldn't seat you there with kids anyway. Service was terrific, food was great (my dd absolutely loved the Italian Irish, Capiche (mac and cheese)--she practically licked the bowl!), and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone with kids.

I really like Raglan Road but I limit myself to sitting at the bar. Service is apparently either hit or miss there. When I eat at the bar I never have problems.

I don't have children and don't know how it works with little kids.

We ate there on our trip a little over a week ago, and we loved it!
We went for an early dinner, so it was still pretty quiet when we got there, quiet enough where our DD slept through half the meal. The service was good, but pretty slow.

I had the tenderloin salad and agree with everything the PP said about it, it was wonderful! DH had the goat cheese salad, and that was good too. My in-laws had the drunken chicken, and they both liked it. My FIL and DH had the shepherd's pie, and it was really good! The best thing was, that was what DD got for her dinner, and it was the exact same thing, just smaller. She loved it, it disappeared fast! My MIL had the Fish and chips, and liked that too. I got the bangers and mash, and it was ok. The sausage was a little spicy, but tasty, and the mashed potatoes were a little dry but still good.

Great food, but slow service. Very worth it IMO.

The fact that service is "slow" compared to other Disney dining spots is one of the things we love about Raglan Road! Amidst all of the hoop-la-la of Disney we were very happy to find a place where we can kick back and relax!

The band was waaaaayyyyyyy too loud. The dancer was great. The food was tasty. We won't go back.
