We've got ressies at Raglan Road on Sat. Aug. 18th at 6:00 before the 9:00 Cirque du Soliel. Has anyone eaten there? I'd love to hear a review.

We've eaten there a couple of times. It was OK, but I'm not rushing to go back. But then, I'm not Irish so maybe I didn't "get" it. :goodvibes

We thought it was good and great fun! Yes- irish food is a bit different. It is much better than Rose & Crown, imho.

We will be there then too! Maybe we see you there!

I think the problem some people encounter is that they think this is going to be like "Pub Food", which is not the case. This is a very "upscale" restaurant with award winning Irish chefs (you can buy the chefs book in the Raglan Road store).

I'm into eclectic and interesting food and flavors so my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. I had the wild mushroom and parmesan risotto and he had braised shank and potatoes with guiness gravy, but it was a tough choice because there were so many interesting things on the menu.

Our meals were beyond fantastic! The desserts are also out of this world and very different.

They do have the traditional fish and chips (very good I might add), and steak and kidney pie and such, but I would opt for a more adventurous menu choice from this awesome Irish chef.

Raglan Road is actually part of a chain of authentic Irish pub restaurants with various names worldwide and they have a pretty stellar reputation.

Also, if you're not Irish, or you do NOT aprreciate Celtic or Irish music, this is probably not the place for you. It can get loud once the band goes on and they are pretty high energy. We adore Celtic music so we were right at home.

I would go back again and again, but if it's not necessarily your cup of tea, I would recommend at least one visit to this restaurant...you may just be pleasantly surprised :)

Thanks so much for your opinion. I was wondering if it was authentic Irish cuisine. This is now on our must do list! We honey-mooned in Ireland. :)

We just ate at Raglan Road a couple of weeks ago! We enjoyed it so much that we cancelled another ADR just to eat there again during the same trip! The food, the atmosphere and the service were all excellent! :cool1: Our new favorite dining spot in Disney!

Thanks, everyone, for your replies. I feel much better about it now. My DD(12) loves everything Irish and she's the one that picked out the place. I had already booked another DTD place.

As you may have noticed, we love Raglan Road! ;) Here is what we ordered:

Seared Scallops: Perfectly prepared with a wonderful sweet corn relish and candied lemon. Delish!
Goats Town: One of the most delicious dishes I have ever had! A wonderful goat cheese lightly seasoned & “fried” and served with grilled crostini, a raspberry compote and fresh raspberries. Simply perfect!
Dalkey Duo: It was served in a fun way-on top of forks sticking up from a wooden plate. Not only was it “fun,” it was also quite yummy and the mustard dipping sauce was perfect.

Serious sirloin steak: Grilled exactly the way I ordered it & glazed with a scrumptious Irish whiskey glaze and drizzled with a very light basil oil. Although it comes with “plain”mashed potatoes, the server happily let me replace them with colcannon, a delicious dish of mashed potatoes, sautéed onion s, cabbage and bacon. YUMM!
Shepard’s Pie: RR twist is to make this with prime rib and lamb. This was the only dish I was disappointed in. It simply had no flavor and so I just nibbled a bit.
Paddy’s Pork: My DH enjoyed this so much that he ordered it both nights! It was the most flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth tender pork we had ever had! The sausage stuffing and the honey soy glaze were both fantastic yet not overwhelming. Wonderful!!
Salmon of Knowledge: I agreed with my DS-the best salmon we have ever had! And my son knows his salmon! He got the maple glaze on the side yet ended up loving it!
Fish & Chips: Nothing “fancy” yet cooked perfectly and served with a wonderful fresh tartar sauce.

Ger’s Bread & Butter Pudding: Oh, my! Heaven in a mug! In fact, it was sooo good that my DS and DH both ordered it again on our second night! The light warm custard and carmel sauces, served on the side for to die for. YUM!
Tiramisu Cheesecake: It was ok, a little dry yet then again I find most cheesecakes on the dry side.
Dessert Sampler: Served in little espresso cups, there was a white chocolate mousse, a dark chocolate mousse and a Bailey’s Coffe Cream Pot-“Tiramisu with an Irish Twist.” My DH and DS patiently waited for me while I devoured evry last bite.. :thumbsup2

Has anyone ever had the whole lemon sole? On the menu, if so how was it? Thanks!!

Just another vote for Raglan Road... food was delicious, service terrific and we had entertainment which was so much fun while you eat. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will visit again when I go back in December.

I find the band can be typically "Irish" about their start times. In other words "We'll start whenever the bloody 'eck we want to" :rotfl:

I've seen them start anywhere between 8 pm and 9:30 pm depending on the night. They usually don't start before 8 though and generally no later than 9.

Darn. We're eating there at 6:00 on a Saturday night. I guess I thought they'd have music earlier in the evening. My daughter will be disappointed. I guess we should have gone to Cirque du Soliel first and then Raglan Road. Oh, well, another excuse to go back.

How was the food?

Food was terrific, we thought, but we do love that type of fare. One of my children had it is not bleeding chowder and thought it was terrific and she is not easy to please. I had fish and chips, which was quite good, but for the life of me, I cannot remember what my other daughter had or my husband. I do know that all were pleased with their selections and we had the banoffi speciality for dessert, which we all shared...I make this myself in pie form and wanted to taste theirs, it was good.

I enjoy RR. The first time I went I was in love with the place. I love Irish pubs and the feel was more upscale but it was fun.

The second time we went it was just ok. Not sure what the difference was really (maybe I was just tired from the 7 hour drive). But the bread dip with the Guiness reduction was to die for. ;-)
