Background:
We used to go to Raglan Road every trip. Loved it.
Second to last trip - food was fine, service was pretty lacking (guy may have been new or just every overwhelmed and confused).
Last trip - had we never been before, we would never consider going back. Seated in the area between the host stand and bar. Crowded with people standing around waiting for tables - why on earth would they be allowed to wait there? Drunk group of middle age men who kept bumping the table and stick their rear ends in our faces! Service was slow as molasses - we had the impression our server had no desire to fight the crowd near our table. Food ranged from one good dish to two average and a terrible cut of steak. Hd trouble getting refills on drinks and felt like we were there forever.
It was so bad, after really good experiences that I emailed the manager. He wanted to "make it right on our next trip" (we have no need for that, just wanted him to know we had a terrible experience at a once favorite restaurant.
That was two years ago. Going this winter and will be meeting people at DS for the evening. The choice of the bday person is Raglan Road.
Was this last experience an anomaly? Should I email and ask to NOT be seated in that area?
Thoughts?
