Raglan Road Update

Although, the menu is primarily a great menu for a carnivore (actually an omnivore, but we're not in a biology class now are we?), there are some options for a vegetarian. My sister is a very long time vegetarian (and I was too for a few years) and she liked a few of the items on the menu. Plus, if you ask to speak to a chef, they'll hook you up and prepare your meal how you like it. No joke.

Thanks, Don! I didn't want to bring my family down by complaining that there wouldn't be anything for me to eat. Well, I was prepared to eat dessert for my dinner if worse came to worst. :teeth: Now, we're super-excited to try it! Hope they still have an ADR left for our date!

Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

Hey all...just wanted to post a quick message to the people on this board whom I've met at RR already so far. It has been a pleasure to meet each and every one of you. All of you have been very sweet and I look forward to seeing you all again in the future. To the ones who I've missed, (I know some of you have asked for me or about me when I wasn't there) I'm very sorry that my schedule didn't mesh with yours, but hopefully when you come back to Orlando/Disney/RR, that I will meet you then. Again, it has really been a pleasure to meet each of you and all of you have been very friendly and nice. It's great to meet people from this board in person. I hope it continues in the future.

By the way, the official Grand Opening of RR was yesterday 20 October 2005, even though we've been open almost 2 weeks now. It went very well. The outside bars are now open and the nightly entertainment is now there.

Glad to hear Don. :wave2: Looking forward to meeting you in 20 days! :Pinkbounc

where can we find a list of entertainment?

Don, it has been a treat to read your very informative posts about RR. We will be there Saturday night, November 5th and I will drop by the bar and shake you hand.

I'd say that you should get a raise because I'm sure that RR has recieved a BUNCH of ADRs because of you. Mine is just one!

As far as a list of entertainment, to be honest, I don't think there is one exactly. I know the bands come in and start playing at 9pm every night usually. Sometimes they might come in and start playing a tad earlier, but not by design or schedule. If there is such a list of entertainment, I'd just call the Disney number and ask them, not that they'll know. :) Our entertainment is really quite simple, an Irish band and an Irish dancer or two.

Thanks Shasta. I look forward to meeting you all too. As far as all of the ADRs from my posts, I never really realized that until a few people at work have started calling me a minor celebrity. Apparently, many people have been coming in asking for me...sometimes I'm there, sometimes I'm not. I don't know if my bosses realize this or not, but that's of course not why I've posted info for you guys here. I've merely posted here as I said when I originally started this post awhile ago, to simply give you all the info that I know to sort of dispel whatever rumors you all were hearing and reading (of which I know there was a lot of it because I read it too). It's no skin off my nose to simply post the correct info here for everyone. I'm happy to do it.

My bosses and a raise...yes, that would be nice, but I guess we all can dream. :) Honestly, I doubt they even know that I've been filling you all in on the progression of RR and all of the info here that I've posted. Too bad. :)

Cheers!

Hi Jack! I can't wait to try you guys out when I bring my crew down over there in about a month! Yeah!

Well, Don, because of you I've made reservations for our upcoming December trip (december 5th to be exact) and our January trip (th e18th). In December, we'll be travelling with my son-in-law Tom who is 120% Irish (100% wouldn't be good enough for him!) so I'll be interested in his take on Raglan Road. We'll definitely be looking for you.

Hi Don,
We have ADR's for Tuesday, 10/25 @ 8:30pm. Will you be working? Also, if we arrive earlier do you think enough people have been coming in that we would still need to wait until 8:30 to be seated? That's the night our flight arrives and we were trying to allow enough time to arrive from the airport and get checked in. Hopefully everything will fall into place as planned!

Hey Don, we were there twice last week and missed you both times (Sunday 10/16 and Tuesday 10/18). We asked 3 people if you were there on Sunday, and no one knew you! :confused3 Tuesday the bartender asked another one who did know you, and said you were off. So sorry we didn't get to say hi. I'm sure a lot of your co-workers are wondering why all these people come in asking for you!! ;)

Sorry, I have Tuesday off unfortunately. If you have an ADR for 830pm on Tuesday, I think you''ll be fine, just a guess though.

Ate at Raglan Road Tuesday, Oct. 18.

This is a beautiful restaurant with great food and great service. This is NOT your typical Irish pub. The place is stunning. That wood! And those bars!

I had an appetizer of Guinness-maple glazed ribs and then for my entree the best salmon I've ever had in my life. I can't remember what my wife had for an appetizer, but she had the shepherd's pie, a dish she's had many times in the past, but not like this. Again, the best she's ever tasted.

Do not miss this one!

We ate at Raglan Road on Saturday night (10/22) and enjoyed it quite a bit. My dad had some fish and chips, and I had a burger. We were there around 7pm, so we missed the band and the dancers, but did have a nice conversation with the manager. The pub is done up quite well. It is my understanding that the Disney Dinging Experience is not accepted, but CMs do get a discount. They have a great shop in there as well.

:cheer2:
