Raglan Road - our new favourite restaurant!

Great review-thanks! I was considering trying this restaurant for our Oct trip since we are getting the dining plan and I saw it was on the list. We are also doing Rose and Crown though, I think DH goes for those really tall beers! I thought it might be too much "pub food" and was thinking about trying WCC, for my kids mostly, instead. I have to say after reading your review I am reconsidering that! It sounds great!

I wouldn't consider RR to be pub food - definitely more upscale! We also went to R&C on our trip and found them to be very different from each other.

:thumbsup2
At Ragland Road... a ,guinness, bangers and mash and the bread pudding..
food of the gods!

Two sides of Raglan Road- we went for dinner soon after the restaurant opened a few months ago. Arrived around 6:00 and the restaurant was around 2/3 filled and continued to fill up. Had a very nice waiter who went over the menu and talked with us about where in Ireland he was from. We had a nice meal and left around 7:30. At that hour there was no live music. It was a good experience and the restaurant had a good feel about it.

Jump to last Saturday night- we dropped in for a beer around 11pm after seeing Cirque and the place was hopping. Irish band on the stage, Irish dancer on the little stage in center of dining room, the crowd into the band and dancer and place very noisy.

So you can go earlier in the day for a quieter meal, or get there later in the evening for a rollicking band and crowd. A nice combination.

Maybe i am in the minority here but i did NOT enjoy Raglan road....The food wasnt good the portions were way too small and the service was horrible...The waitress pretty much ignored us couldnt get any drinks from her...then after appetizers my daughter made a huge FIT ...we had to leave she was screaching so loud and wouldnt stop ....DH took her outside i told the waitress i needed the check and some containers to wrap up our food which just came out we didnt even touch it the waitress said K and continued to ignore me...took peoples orders , talking to others, dissapearing bringing drinks i had to remind her at least 5 times...and everytime she said she forgot ...then she FINALLY brings me the check and then i finally lost it and got nasty and was like where are the food containers?!?!?!? That took another god knows how long and how many times of reminding...with the service i got here and how long it took to get a check and some containers i shud of just left and not even paid ....And since we were on the dining plan she got a tip anyway which she most certainly didnt deserve and to boot the first time i asked for the check and containers i asked if there was a desert we could take back with us and she said no there are no deserts which is total BS ...Never again...Oh yeah and then when we finally got to eat our food it wasnt good at all mediocore at best and way too salty
