Hi everyone,

Newbie here. Has anyone eaten at Raglan Road at Downtown Disney? We were thinking of eating there, and maybe seeing those irish step dancers. (they still have those, right?)

Thanks for any help,

Sue.

I don't know about the step dancers, but we liked the food at Raglan Road. It's more upscale than traditional pub food. DH wasn't wowed by the shepherd's pie, but we both loved my risotto (DH got a taste), the goats town appetizer and our chocolaty dessert. The adult beverages are very good, too.

Great place to go. Excellent appetizers. Entrees good. Good beer, wine. The bar is very nice. The entertainment starts around 8:30 with the Maitre d' warming up the crowd and then the band starts at 9. The dancer is out about every third song to dance. Very enjoyable show.

I want to go, but is it kid-friendly? Or will our DS12's be bored out of their minds?

We ate there and thought it was okay. The food was pretty bland. That might just be how Irish food is. We must have eaten too early (res at 7:00 p.m.) because we didn't see the dancer or band.

We ate there in February, and would never go back. The appetizers were good, but the main courses were rather bland.

We went on our last trip a couple months ago and weren't all that crazy about the place either. The food was uneventful and the atmosphere was a little too sterile. We did, however, get to sit in the room with the band and step dancer, so at least the entertainment was OK. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again.

We ate there in January. The food was just ok. Service wasn't good; everyone seemed confused. We enjoyed the entertainment. We wouldn't go back for a meal, but we would go back to hang out at the bar.

What I tell people . . .
1) Very good atmosphere
2) Good food
3) Sometimes poor service
4) Entertainment well above par

PS - Raglan was also the comanding major at the Charge of The Light Brigade, probably the worst military manevur ever.

Just to add a little variety to the opinions here ... we loved it; it's now our favorite DD restaurant. No complaints on the food or service, and the entertainment made it all pretty special. I WILL say that while the entrees were good, the desserts are what put us over the edge.

It's our favorite new place too. My kids are as bored at this restuarant as they are at any of them, except maybe WCC.

It is now my favorite WDW restaurant. I eat there at least once every two weeks. Don't tell anyone, but I've been known to slip in just for the Bread and Butter Pudding! :thumbsup2

We've been twice. Probably won't be back. Not because its bad, but just because it didn't impress us. Of course, neither of us are Irish so that may have something to do with it. :)

FWIW, the friends we went with loved it. I'm sure they will be back.

OK, I have to know - what is shepherd's pie?

My DH is very Irish and I'm sure would love to check this place out. :)

Actually, it's the bread and butter pudding that put me totally over the edge. It has achieved kingpin status as my favorite Disney dessert.

I remember shepherd's pie as a staple on the menu Fridays at college. RR's version of it is an odd cylinder, sort of like a stack of hockey pucks. It's layered with ground beef and mashed potatoes.

I've managed to make it sound really gross, but it's actually pretty good.

Kevin's Kudos is my favorite entree (OK, I've only had two.) DD got pretty pumped about her fish and chips, and their appetizers are all creatively presented. Try the Dalkey duo if you like sausage.

Here's the menu:

We ate there in April and we didn't care for it. We were there for the beginning of the entertainment and it was "OK",but nothing great. Will not go back.

We just got home from Ragland Road. We had the Fada Burger. It is very good.

The entertainment started about 8:15 tonight. They are starting earlier now because the crowds have really picked up.

You can definately go in for drinks and a desert. I've done it many times.
