Raglan Road menu changes

I was perusing menus yesterday (yes, I have no life) and noticed that allearsnet has an updated (as of 4/07) menu, and there have been some big changes. (The DIS still has the old menu for now, for comparison.)

On the plus side, there are a LOT more solo appetizers--6 plus 3 soups. I know that will make a lot of DDP'ers happy, since most of the appetizers used to be for 2. Don't worry--they seem to still have most of the starters for 2 that they used to have, for those who want them.

On the minus side, the vegetarian risotto that I've read rave reviews about has been replaced by a portobello mushroom burger and fries. :crazy2: I'm not even sure I'm willing to order this, so unless they can do something else for vegetarians, I may have to settle for a salad, hold the meat. Sigh. And I was so looking forward to that risotto.

It also looks like they've eliminated the herb-crusted grilled goat cheese appetizer. They now have a macaroni and cheese or a cheese casserole instead. So, so sad.

Thanks for the update! I am more excited than ever to eat at RR after reading the new menu! :thumbsup2

I had wondered about this as I had been on Reglan Road's actual website and the menu was much different then the old one. It now seems that this new one on allears is MUCH closer to what I had seen.

I am SOOOOO excited!

Another veggie here! I was also sad to see the risotto gone and replaced by yet another portobello mushroom thing. Don't they know that vegetarians eat other things besides MUSHROOMS!! :confused3

I didn't like the risotto. But I'll miss the goat cheese.

:sad2: I was worried until I checked allears and I saw they still have It's Not Bleedin' Chowder and Ger's Bread and Butter Pudding so my 2 choices are safe! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Had these last Sept. and plan on going back and having them again this Sept.

Looks like the kid's menu has a few changes. I noticed that the chicken that my DD received when she ordered chicken fingers seems to now be on the menu-maybe, I'm not sure what chicken goujons are? She got 2 fried, boneless, chicken breasts last time and it was some of the best chicken I've tasted! So maybe that's what they call it. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the heads up!

Exactly! I like mushrooms in things, but to just take a giant mushroom and stick it on a plate where the meat would normally go is just disgusting. Not to mention I'd like to have another option for my dinner than a "burger and fries." Sheesh--everyone else at the table will be having a nice meal, and I'm stuck with something that looks like it came from a takeout window. I don't even think they have a burger for the carnivores, so why is that our only choice? :confused3

Man, I hope so, because "chicken goujons" sounds suspiciously like a variation on Rocky Mountain oysters to me.

Thanks for posting this update.

I loved the risotto and am sorry to see it's off the menu. But, menus change and some of the new items look interesting.

I am glad to see that It's Not Bleedin' Chowder, colcannon and the appetizer ribs are still on the menu. Yum!!!

We just ate here last week. My MIL is a vegetarian and ordered the mac and cheese appitizer. She said it was very good.

Those are chicken goujons in Brit/Irish speak. :)

I'm glad to hear some positive feedback about the new items, but I still wish I'd had a chance to try that herb crusted grilled goat cheese. Anyone else with experience with the new menu?
