I know that Raglan Road is an Irish Style Pub at DTD. I dont recall seeing any posts or reviews on the entertainment - (I've read the food reviews, which were positive) So I'm curious, I've read positive reviews for JellyRolls and the Piano Bar - was curious if the Irish Pub caters to the good ole fashioned folk song sing alongs? Bawdy songs? Irish Songs?

My friend and I went to Raglan Road on a Tuesday evening on our trip in March. The primary reason I went is because I am a HUGE Off Kilter fan  and Mark, the bass player from Off Kilter, plays at Raglan Road on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I'm not sure if the music is the same all the time, but the sets that he was in, were not really "traditional" Irish music. Some Bono and U2. It was ~ 10:30 when his sets started. It was so weird to see him without a kilt, but yes, he had pants on :bitelip: ! Oh, we did see the young woman who did Irish step dancing (Riverdance type dancing) on the elevated stage (it was right next to our table). She was incredible :thumbsup2 !

:thumbsup2 We were there in early March. It was awesome! We had an ADR, and we arrived early so we sat at the bar. We liked the location we had so much and we wanted to hear the band later, so we ate at the bar. That was a good decision because we had prime seating for the music later, and it got busy so we wouldn't have gotten the seats we had later on. The food was really good and the band (I can't remember their name but it was 3 guys I think) was stellar! Definitely will go again in August when I'm in the "world." :shamrock:

We hit RR several times in the first 10 days of this March and it quickly became a contender with R&C for our favorite watering hole. The entertainment is first rate, the food is interestingly different from usual 'Pub Grub' and the brew is cold and they keep it coming. Have a few and you'll be singing your own bawdy songs.

We have been twice to Raglan Road and it is now on our must do list. The food is fabulous. The last time we were there in May we shared a baked cod appetizer...loaded with cheese and cream of course. And then for the entree we shared Raglan Rissoto which was delicious, rich and creamy and topped with watercress.

The entertainment is fantastic and yes it's the typical pub style sing a long songs. The band is great and so is the Irish dancer. It's a great place to enjoy a delicious meal, some great entertainment and meet other guests. We met the nicest couple from England in May. In fact, we met the nicest group of people the first time we went and they were from England. I like English folks!

It's so much and fun and a great way to spend an evening and you don't have to pay for Pleasure Island admission.

I remember this song that kept saying "There's whiskey in the jar." My husband still sings it.

A little trivia here, 'Whiskey in the Jar' is a regular on Off Kilter's play list and it was covered by Thin Lizzy (of 'The Boys are Back in Town' fame), and Metallica, of all people.

Does anybody know if Raglan Road serves Magners Irish Cider? I was recently in Ireland and had the pleasure of drinking a few pints of Bulmers Irish Cider, which is the same thing, they just can't use the name Bulmers outside of Ireland, so they call it Magners everywhere else.

Thanks for the good question and answers! My DH and I have reservations at Raglan Road on September 30th, our first night of the 9-day vacation, and we're really excited....even moreso after reading this thread! :)

Whisky in a jar,was indeed thin lizzy, sometime around the seventies it was a hit over here.the lead singer was Phil Linnott (not sure the sir name is spelt the correct way :confused3 ),sadly he has now passed on,but his and the bands songs still remain popular.
