We are headed to Animal Kingdom this summer. My daughter loves animals. I have 2 questions:

1. Are they still offering free behind the scenes tours at Rafikil's Planet Watch?

2. Is there a schedule to show when the vetinary/hospital room is in use? If not, any tips that would increase our chances of seeing it in use would be greatly appreciated.

1. No; they ended quite a few weeks ago.

2. There isn’t a schedule posted.

To add to what @hiroMYhero said...

For the vet room, I believe they usually are always planning to be working in there early. If I recall I want to say around 10 or 11am. However they can be in there anytime if there's an emergency.

If you want to know before you go on the train to check it out, you can ask a CM at the front of the park or the CM that is near the train entrance and they should be able to tell you the time of any surgeries for that day or what they have going on.

Yesterday was the first day without Photopass photogs. Guests with MM have not been happy.

And usually no procedures are performed on Wednesdays.

Yes, you can ask a CM by the front gate to check the schedule for you. It can save you a lot of time and help you arrange your day if you know when there are likely to be procedures.

And yes, they usually don't do veterinary procedures at Planet Watch on Wednesdays.
