Rafiki at Animal Kingdom

I know that you can meet Rafiki at Rafiki's Planet Watch. According to Kenny the Pirate's site, "Rafiki begins his morning outside the main gates meeting guests as they arrive for the morning." Has anyone experienced this? Is it a normal meet and greet with pictures/autographs? If so, where exactly is he located? Any information is greatly appreciated. I have never actually entered AK in the morning through the main gates. I've only entered with the Sunrise Safari through AKL and later in the evening for Harambe Nights a couple of summers ago. Can't wait to return next week!

We've always gotten our rafiki m&g inside at rafiki's planet watch. Hardly ever a wait. But we always go during low crowd times. You take the wildlife train to get there.

If he was there in the morning we sure didn't see him. We met him at Planet Watch. We went during very busy summer season (we were there July 3rd), and there was hardly any wait, I'd say 10 minutes, tops. And probably closer to 5.

Thank you for the replies and the info. Are there always snakes at Rafiki's Planet Watch? I have seen some pictures/videos of snakes there with handlers that people can touch, etc. A member of our party is not very fond of snakes and we'll try to avoid them if possible. Thanks!

You can avoid easily. The handlers usually have some type of animals out. Last time there was a bird and some chipmunk type thing.

We got Rafiki at Epcot! I think it was an accident because we were behind a gate, but Pluto was there too
