We won this on Priceline for a weekend trip next week and all the reviews are rather old. Has anyone stayed recently? What fast food places are close? Is there a place to buy breakfast items, etc. I don't want to spend time driving since it's such a short trip. TIA

Hi, I just recently did a reply on this subject to another person. Hope it helps...Ted

Hello!
First of all this hotel has THE absolute best location to get to Disney via Sherberth Road...ask at the front desk. You need to exit the hotel to the west end and hop on Sherberth...go straight and look up...you will see Mt Everest in AK to your right...now look back left and notice the tree on the horizon that has kind of off color green leaves...that is the Tree of Life in AK...WOW!

Now, follow the road north...it will be about a mile and 1/2 or so...take a couple of quick turns and come to a stoplight that says Osceola Parkway....
left is AK Lodge and the best buffet at Disney, Bomas. For those of you staying more than one night, turn right on Osceola Parkway and you are in Disney World. Follow the signs to all the parks...AK will be a quick turn left and all the other parks will come up on a turn left sign at a small intersection...
To get back to the hotel follow the signs in Disney to Animal Kingdom...some quick turns will be necessary off main roads....then as you approach AKingdom, stay LEFT and follow the signs to Animal Kingdom LODGE.
When you get back to the stop light at Sherberth, turn left and follow it right back to your turn into your hotel on the left...

I remember the rooms were great...there is a frig under the TV that hides very well...

I have always enjoyed this hotel when we got it on Priceline...one of the best deals because of the room with frig and super location...

I would stay a week there NO Question if just two of us!!!]

Overall we really enjoyed this hotel for location and rooms...remember the frig is under the TV and very well camoflaged!!!

I stayed at Radisson worldgate summer of this year. I had mixed feelings about this hotel... I did get it on a bid at priceline though for $55.00/night.

A bit of forewarning: When I first arrived the room I was given was not exactly in the best condition. It had 2 double beds that looked like they hadn't been washed since the hotel opened. The room's A/C unit was also old and decrepit and didn't seem to work right. I wasn't expecting 5-star accomodations at $55.00/night but I was expecting atleast working A/C and clean beds. I noticed that all around the hotel there are signs for "sleep number" beds that are in the rooms. I went to the front desk and inquired about them. They said that it would cost me $10/night to upgrade to a king bed with sleep number. I will tell you what... that is the best 10 bucks I spend per night everyday.. those beds are amazing. I highly suggest spending the little extra to get those beds.. and the funny thing is they forgot to charge me for the upgrade :confused3. The other thing you may want to know is that the price you are paying up front does not have the "resort fee" included. When you check out you will be charged about $3/night for that fee... I guess it's because of the amenities.. like the free shuttle and such. Also the pool smelled a little funny but might have just been too much chlorine or something. Also, there is a huge timeshare operation in the lobby, and they will try to get you to go on tours for free stuff... if you want to spend the time that's up to you but they don't really bother you too much although you will get voicemails daily from them telling you to come down and see their specials....

With that said.. the hotel definetly show's its age, but it's not horrible. The one thing that sets it apart is the location. It is located on one of the back roads into the Disney property. You will not have to sit in the traffic trying to leave Disney, just take sherbeth road straight back to the hotel.. takes maybe 10 min while the rest of the people are stuck on I-drive trying to get back. It was a decent hotel and for a short stay not too bad...

Also it is fairly close to several breakfast places in the area.. I think there is a buffet fairly close, but it is on international drive so there are plenty of places within 5 min.

thanks for replying ( :) I would probably not have noticed the frdge! )
