Thinking of staying here the night before we fly next march, again mainly as it would make travelling with a 9 month old easier still.

Anyone stayed here recently (last threads on the DIS were from 2010) and have any thoughts about it?

Also, does anyone know why having 2 adults and an infant rather than just 2 adults puts the price up by £15? I've always been used to paying by the room rather than by the 'person'...??!!

:goodvibes

I stayed there last June the night before my flight and I liked the ability to just walk over to the airport in the morning and not worry about waiting for a shuttle. I also enjoyed been able to use the swimming pool and gym facilities :goodvibes We ate at the Runway Brasserie and Bar which is located in the hotel and what I recall the food wasn't stupidly expensive and was really nice. Also the room was really clean and the bed was very comfy.

As for the extra £15, I have no idea... I thought most of the time you just paid a room fee regardless of who was in it :confused3

Are they providing you with a pack n play for the kiddo for the £15????

That's what I wondered. I'd ring them and ask Luke. You don't have to book over the phone but you may even be able to negotiate a deal with them. Also check out the business class rooms. We always found it better value to upgrade to business class with breakfast included than to add breakfast to a standard room

I don't think so, as it doesn't even give me the chance to say the age (therefore that he is an infant), so no pack and play assumed.

I'll give them a ring, I didn't even think of such an old fashioned way :lmao:

Thanks

We stayed there two weeks back, I was generally quite impressed and it was lovely to just walk to the terminal.

I also stayed at the Hilton in June, and of the two I'd pick the radisson. Their full service restaurant is lovely too!

Of course, we did get charged for someone else's meals when we checked out... But once they realised we hadn't signed the receipts the £157 was deducted no problem... Lol!

We also used the parking service and were very impressed.

We also stayed last May taking advantage of parking. It was great to just walk across to the airport. We had a room with runway view which was great although I don't think I would pay for this again having done it once. Would definately stay here again and breakfast provided great start to day.

The additional £15 is because you are exceeding the bed occupancy for the room so the hotel will need to put in a cot or fold up bed for the third person, plus additional bedding etc.

We have stayed here quite a few times but always in an executive room which includes breakfast as it is cheaper than paying seperately for the breakfast. These rooms are on the top floors and you can request a runway view (we have always been given one).
