I have booked the above hotel for 15 nights for end of April/start of May this year.

Having read reveiws on trip adviser, I am very worried, there seem so many bad reviews(along with a few good ones).

Has anyone ever stayed there? Should I be worried or are the bad reviews just down to people over-reacting.

Have booked through Virgin and am wondering whether I should consider changing hotels! (don't mind if there is a small charge to do so!)

I would appreciate all the advice I can get.

Thanks in advance.

I have never stayed ther, but I can tell you it is NOT in Celebration!!!
Its is on the 192 on the other side of the road, just past the Celebration water tower.
It is just one of many places that claim that they are in Celebration.
I did hear that they changed ther name so that people would think that they are in Celebration, and therefor they would be a good hotel!!!

Hi-we stayed here for 10 nights in late dec/early jan.
On first impressions the hotel looked good, the lobby area was smart and has various bars, delis etc.The hallways that lead to the rooms could do with some sprucing up-its a little dated. The room we had was fine, nothing flash but clean and comfy. The pools are very good with expensive pool bars open regularly. Some of the hotel seemed to be being refubished when we were there but it didnt cause us any problems. Also its across the road from celebration so dont drive into celebration-we found the location good as we could walk to bars, restaurants at night.
Overall i left with the feeling that this was probably once a really good hotel but could now do with an overhaul-it seems a little dated.
Any more questions you have i will try and answer them for you.

We stayed there in December 2003 when it was the Radisson Parkway. Found it to be a very good hotel. Staff were very helpful, it was clean and comfortable and the restaurant was very good too. Kids ate free and the food was very good. However we now stay at Disney's All Stars as it's the same price and more fun.

sorry can't comment on the hotel you booked. we booked through virgin in 2003 and decided on the marriott hotel DTD (now being refurbished and being called the holiday inn), when we arrived we were very disappointed with the hotel and put up with it for a few days. asked to change rooms but found that they were all in a pretty bad way.
we drove around and had a look at hotels in the area, especially ones in the virgin brochure which we had taken with us.
we decided to phone the virgin rep and told her our concerns and would it be able to transfer to the courtyard by marriot LBV. they did not hesitate and told us to pack and go to the new hotel. when we arrived at the courtyard we were welcomed at reception and they knew we were coming. Cant fault virgin on this occasion.
so it may be worthwhile seeing what the hotel is like at celebration, then if its not up to par contact the virgin rep and see if they will do a transfer

i have to agree with SYKO would not have placed the hotel in Celebration more like Maingate East

anyway good luck and have a great time:thumbsup2

We stayed here Oct 03. Like others have said its not Celebration, even too far to walk there for us. We got a pricing error from Venere.com only charged us for some of the nights, averaged out at £28/night incl tax. which was great value.
Only thing that let it down for us was the big pool with waterfall was not heated, only the smaller pool. Still used it some days but it took a little getting used to.
I would say it was a good 3+ star hotel back then BUT I have read lots of reviews recently that say its very tired now, although they are in the process of remodelling. Don't know if it will be completed end April.
link to tripadvisor, don't know if you have read here.

i really liked this hotel.

i stayed there last feb and i am hopefully returning this feb.

the rooms are nice, the large swimming pool is great but it isn't heated so not many people went in there in feb! there is a smaller pool round the back which is heated.
there are two hot tubs and you get free pool towels to use.

if you have a sit down breakfast that can be quite expensive - i think that is around $15 each.
but they have a small counter service opp. check in that does fresh fruit, crossiants, and krispy kremes!
there is a take out pizza hut concession there too.

i really liked the shuttles because it only picks up at the Radisson and goes straight to the parks.

you can drive about 5 mins to celebration - get a local bus to old town - i walked the 30 min walk there.

i really liked the rooms - very art deco - i think that they recently done a refurb on the rooms two years ago.

you get a USA newspaper today outside your door - and radisson bottle water when you get your room cleaned- then when you leave you have to pay the $5 a night tax - but i never wanted a paper anyway! i think most hotels charge you tax regardless.

i liked it - the only thing was when i went there the laydee on reception wasn't that helpful but apart from that - i liked the hotel.

i hope that i enjoy my stay again when i hopefully go there next month.

xjx enjoy!

Greetings from the US. Concerning 15 days at this hotel, as someone over here in the States that is a DVC member living in Pennsylvania that has done 25 trips to Orlando and Disney, I would not recommend this hotel. The trip advisor reports are generally accurate and I tend to trust them. I am familiar with this hotel and can report that it is close to nothing other than typical US tourist traps. You would be better off spending a little more money and staying in a Marriott product or even Embassy Suites or a Disney mid tier hotel, i.e. Port Orleans, Caribean Beach, etc... Please do your research on this one. I for one would not want to travel the distance you are traveling and become disappointed upon arrival knowing that I had 15 days of not being satisfied. Best of luck.

Cheers,
