Radisson - booked solid? or last min availability?

Does the Radisson get booked solid night before a cruise? Or is it possible to get a room w/no ressie?
There is a family driving down, not sure how far they will get.
Would it be best for them to book a room just in case and then cancel by 6pm?

I don't know why they wouldn't book the room, as long as it is a cancel by 6 pm day of arrival reservation. They can likely get a better rate by searching for discounts ahead of time. If they aren't going to make it, all they have to do is call.
