Since I already posted a few mini reports on the respective boards, this will just be an overview of our trip:

NWK to MCO - Saturday flight. Perfect. Rented car with Alamo using mousesavers rate TV for $108 plus tax. Refused insurance and with tax the bill came to $143 (not bad). No wait at the counter and the service was fine. Drove car to Radisson. Very lovely place (review on Orlando boards). Room 1406 pool view. Went to store, bought foam cooler and tons of drinks.
Sunday - Sea World - What a great place indeed. Loved Shamu, etc. Left early afternoon for a nap, returned at 4 pm, stayed until 10. Got pass to come back for 2nd day free.

Monday - Rest day - Went in pool, went to Orlando Premium Outlets to do some shopping, ate at a bad chinese place. Packed to check out of Radisson into AKL

Tuesday - Got up early and drove to AK. Entered at 9:05 and ran back to the Safari. Saw tons of animals, and my 2 yo son loved the elephants. Went on train ride to conservation and petting zoo. The skies opened up, got drenched. Went to the Lion King Show. The highlight of our trip to AK. Wonderful production.
Ate at Rainforest cafe, went to Dinoland, etc. Son fell asleep in stroller at 2 pm, left to check in at AKL. Pulled up to AKL - in Awe! Got room 4429....wow! Bunk Bed queen room with Zebra Trail view of many animals. Knew we made the right choice for resort!
Ate at Boma, went in the pool.

Wed - Got up at 6:30 (ugh) for MK. Arrived at MK at 8:30, got on Dumbo, Carousel, Teacups, Peter Pan, Snow White and Small world in 1 hour. At 11 the place was a mob scene. Met Pooh and Tigger (my DS 2 had so much fun in Toontown). Next I wanted to go on Space Mountain but it was too crowded and didn't want my DH and DS to wait. Went back to hotel for a rest, lunch. Took bus to Epcot at 3 pm. Rainy! Stopped raining, went on Spaceship Earth - DS 2 loved the ride. Walked to World Showcase - Downpour - rained the rest of the night. Took ferry back to Germany, then ran in and out of shops trying to avoid the rain. Got to monorail at 6 pm. Had change of clothes for my DS in Ziplock bag in my stroller (bring your own stroller, it's a lifesaver). Went back to MK, went on Train, Haunted Mansion (DS 2 was a little scared). Saw Spectro and left before fireworks. Heard some woman complaining on the bus that the food at Chef Mickey was crap and was a waste of $50 (we had reservations next AM). Boy, was she wrong, and missed the whole point of Chef Mickey's.

Thur - Chef Mickey's at 7:30 AM. Sat on terrace. Great character interaction sitting on the terrace. My DS 2 loved everyone and was so excited he was screaming the whole time. Met Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Mickey, Pluto, etc. Best money we've ever spent. The food was fine and the look on my DS was priceless.
Went back to hotel for swim. Went to Downtown Disney. Played in LegoLand, went to Capt'n Jack's for dinner. Went back to Premium outlets to walk around and walk off dinner. Bouoght some shoes for DS.

Fri - Checked out of AKL (loved this place, saw many more animals than I expected - read my review on resort board). Would stay here again in a heartbeat and liked it much better than the CR. Went to Sea World with 2nd day free pass. Journey to Atlantis was open today....YAY! Son saw Shamu again (by whale) and left at 1:30 to airport for 4 pm flight.

I must say one thing, the Disney Magic is real. We liked the Radisson Resort, however once we stayed at the AKL and went to Magic Kingdom, we had 'Disney Fever'. It was a truly magical vacation and we can't wait to go back.

Thank you to everyone on this board and all who helped with their trip reports of the past. My DH was amazed how wonderfully everything was planned and I only have all of you to thank!

I'm so glad you had a magical trip. :) These boards are a big help in planning aren't they? Welcome home!

Thanks for the report!

I stayed at AKL for the first time in December, and agree that it is a really special resort!

Yes, the AKL exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

Thanks for sharing your report! I found your info on AKL to be helpful--I will be staying there for the first time this trip and I love hearing what other first-timers think of the resort.

Gumdrop - AKL was wonderful. We enjoyed this resort and would stay there again in the future. Hope your trip is as "magical" as ours was.

Thanks for sharing - wonderful reviews!!!!
