Well this could be a real budget buster. We have tickets for the Radio City show tomorrow. Live about 2 1/2 hours away from NYC in the Philadelphia suburbs. Have a limo rented. Current forecast: BLIZZARD. Don't know that I even want to venture this trip now. Do you think they'll cancel the show?

I have no idea if they cancel, but I will keep my fingers crossed for you! That sounds like a wonderful time!

I think it takes a lot for snow to cancel a show at Radio City...and that would be a paralyzing snow in NYC.

This is from their website:

Radio City Music Hall rarely cancels or postpones events due to inclement weather. Please be advised that tickets for all events are sold on a non-refundable and non-exchangeable basis. This stipulation is clearly marked on each ticket.

Should a decision be made to cancel or postpone an event, this information will be posted, as soon as we receive it, on our web site www.radiocity.com as well as on our main information telephone line at 212.465.6741

All shows taking place at our New York venues will proceed as originally scheduled and planned.

I hope you get to go! We went a few weeks ago and it was great! So far no snow here but I live in the Poconos.

Thanks for all the support! I know the website says they very rarely cancel but I wanted to know if anyone had personal experience with it actually cancelling. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I would think IF they cancelled it would happen today, not tomorrow. By tomorrow, things should be moving ok inside the city.

I got a Facebook message that the Broadway shows are running tonight (I am a fan of the Spiderman show, because we have tickets for a future show)

From what the news is saying, it's supposed to snow for the rest of today and taper off into tomorrow morning. I'm sure you'll be fine. It takes a lot more than this to close down anything in NYC.

Amen... I went to school there for 16 years and NEVER had a snow day!

Well, logic would say that if cancellations are "very rare" then the chances of anyone having personal experience with it AND registered here is even rarer.

If I were you, I'd be more concerned with the scheduling of the limo you hired than whether the show is canceled. I'd be on the phone with them to find out if they suggest leaving earlier, or what THEIR policy is on weather situations like this.

I was just reading the tripadvisor boards and they said broadway was still open tonight and were encouraging people to go and get tickets to sold out shows, because there would be "no-shows".
That really stinks for you!!! I guess you'll just have to leave early! Once your in the city, you will have a great time!

We saw the show last weekend and it was great.

I would be worried about the limo portion - if you live near Philly - you can take Amtrak to NYC. We grew up in NYC but now live near Princeton in NJ and we take the train to the city all the time. I just looked up Amtrak and the trip is about 1 hour 30 minutes (although it is expensive). I imagine the limo is expensive also.

Instead of Amtrak, you can also use the NJ Transit New York Line.

You can also check the Bolt Bus, Megabus or the Chinatown Bus. (LOL.. I don't know the actual name of the Chinatown Bus, but it goes from Chinatown in Philly to NYC very often)

I would be checking the limo service. Really, you have nothing to worry about, you aren't driving, so far the show isn't cancelled.

i'm in boston and our disney on ice show was cancelled for tonight :(

we can show up at another showtime and they'll exchange our seats...i'm really hoping we get the same area...i got awsome seats for dd and i and i'm going to be mad if they try to move us way up to the top!

If they are on for tonight they will never cancel for tomorrow. I have had tix to broadway shows in snowstorms dumping 20+ inches of snow and the show went on, so I would highly doubt you will see a cancellation.

Almost definitely not.

NYC shows are rarely cancelled....producers are loathe to refunding tickets.

Depending on the show, they may exchange tickets for a future performance if you can't make it due to weather. But the Radio City show closes soon and there probably aren't many tickets left anyway. Sorry.

I can't recall a major show being cancelled due to snow. Of course, they all shut down for a few days after 9/11 and for a blackout in either 2004 or 2005. Shows were also cancelled for about a week when the musicians went on strike some years back.

I have tickets to Elf tonite. I am out on Long Island all the LIRR is shut down, as well as subways in NYC. They say don't drive, the roads are dangerous and cars stranded everywhere. On the website they said I can exchange for another performance, but the only one with tix comparable to mine are for NY eve and we won't be around. I am hoping they will either refund my $$ or let me exchange tix for another play telecharge deals with b/c Elf is done on 1/2/11. I have been on hold with them for 1/2 hour now.

Oh no! I'm sorry. That stinks. My friend went into the city last night to see Elf and got stranded:scared1: Luckily, she was able to find a hotel room but I don't know how she will get home today, maybe the subway to jamaica and then her DH can pick her up.

OP here. We decided not to go. Our limo service gave us a full refund (yeah!). The show starts at 2 without us! Radio City did change the information on their website and indicated that those who could not get to the show due to the weather should "reach out to Guest Relations". We have been trying to "reach out" all morning and have been unable to get through on the phone. I guess there are a lot of people "reaching out". We are unable to go any other day this week and the show ends 12/31/10. I'll let you know how this is resolved. Thanks for all the support!popcorn::

After being on hold for 2 hours..yes 2 hours, thank goodness for speaker phones...I finally got through. Since I live on LI and train service/subway service is closed and they are advising you to not drive, they will give me a refund. I have to send my original tix with a note explaining todays situation and they will refund my money. They said the show is still on, but will make an exception today only because the show is a limited run and ends on Sunday. Thank goodness.....We will have to try again next year when it returns.
