Hi. I’m looking at tix for the Rockettes next year. If you’re familiar with Radio City could you help me decided? I’m looking at the two rows behind the orchestra and row A of the first mezzanine. They’re the same price. Which would you choose and why? Thanks.

I've never been to Radio City, but I've been to lots of theaters. For a show like that, I would choose the first row of the mezzanine. The Rockettes do a lot with precise dancing and formations. You'll be able to see the entire picture better from the mezzanine. I prefer to be closer for plays where I want to see the actor's faces and emotions. For big musicals and dance shows, I would rather be further back in the theater. The front of the mezzanine is the perfect spot.

I agree with Luv Bunnies for the exact reason she stated. The Radio City Music Hall stage is huge. I have been there and have seen the Christmas Spectacular. Just be aware that there is a storyline and acting to the Christmas show, too, in addition to the Rockettes. So, it may be a toss up, as to which you prefer. The mezzanine may be too far back for that. However, when the Rockettes come out, you'll want the full view. Their precision & symmetry is spectacular.

This site also says to NOT sit in the first 13 rows (AA-LL), but instead row MM to ZZ would be better (allowing you to see the entire stage without that 1st row in the movie theater feeling). The center sections of the 1st mezzanine also provide a spectacular view.

This site gives virtual views of the seats, with actual photos of people sitting in those seats. Click around to different seats and not just the ones you are interested in, as it also depends on how wide of an angle the camera lens is. And try to find out what row of the orchestra the mezzanine actually starts, so you can see the view from those seats too.

I've never seen them, but I did read Catcher in the Rye where the protagonist visits when playing hooky from school. I think that was back when they had a full show including movies.
