It's been a year since I was there so I am wondering if Radiator's Springs Racers is still crazy at parking opening. Last year people were still running to the rope when the park opened. Has it calmed down at all?

Thanks!

It's been crazy the last 3 days. I finally rode it last night. The line has been around an hour even in the rain. I imagine it will be an hour and a half today since it will finally be sunny.

Last week when we were there it was always on a 90 minute wait. We did extra magic hour and still waited a good 45 minutes. We also saw everyone coming into the park and tow mater took them back to the racers. They also had CMs around the crowd keeping them from running.

I say if you want to go get there at park opening and go straight for a fast pass. If the line is long just stay in it anyways. We were told a 40 minute wait just for fast passes and it was 5. But they ran out of fast passes by 11 and I got our fast passes at like 810 and it was for 11am. You can also do single rider line later if yall want to do it again and it's not as long as a wait but still long.

We were in the park three weeks ago and rode it several times in the mid afternoon. Never waited more than 45 minutes.
If it hadn't been for FP the line would have been only 20~30 minutes at the most.

We still always do fast passes. We didn't once because we had friends meeting us mid-day and it was well over an hour. I love the ride, but I won't wait that long for it again.

Is it still best for RD to veer to the right or have they changed how the actual line for the attraction is formed?

As others have noted, it's still the most popular ride at opening and lines will remain long throughout the day. I do think the demand for FPs have decline slightly since this time last year. Part of this is because they no longer allow guests to form a line for FP before the park opens. You still should plan to get a FP within the first 90 minutes of park opening, but I no longer think it's as critical to get the FP first (as soon as the park opens).

We tried to get FPs for it yesterday, but there was some issue and they weren't disbursing them....about 9:00. Then, due to the rain, the cats weren't running. We were told to return after lunch and they should be up. We did...and the wit time was 80 mins! With light drizzle no less. But, it was worth the wait.

This happened to me once as well. RSR was up and running, but the FP machines were down so they were unable to distribute FPs. The CMs said it was a communication issue with the system. They opened about an hour after the park opened. I also know that they suspend distribution of the FPs when RSR is down.

What's the wait like in the single rider line lately? I'm thinking of just doing that and avoiding a mad rush to CarsLand or FP machines...

Single rider lines are usually 15-30 minutes. Better than the normal line. And it's still crazy as of three weeks ago. When you come in, everyone is pushing to get to RSR as fast as they can. Just nuts, and I'm another nutty one right in the middle of it. :dance3:

This past Saturday we entered the park around 8:10am (8am opening, non-EMH day) and pulled a fastpass around 8:20 for a 9:50 return time. The park didn't look too busy so we went ahead and checked out the stand-by time which was posted as 30min. We ended up waiting more like 40min for our first ride. At 9:50 I went back and pulled another set of fastpasses for 5:20pm! Lucky us, we got to ride it 3 times in one day!

We were there in October. They were still doing wide right. We opted to pull a fast pass at 10:00 and got a return time of 2:00. Single rider varied from 20 minutes to 40 minutes (per the wait time app...we never attempted it this trip.)

Was just there Friday after Thanksgiving. Arrived at DCA at 8:30a and got in fast pass line. It was just at Carthay Circle so not bad. Was about 10min to get fast passes for return time of 12:35p. Fast passes gone by 11:00am...maybe before that, but I checked at 11a and they were closed. The fast passes are now connected so can't get another FP for a different ride right away like before.

On single rider, I was there in late October. I did TSMM at rope drop, then rode RSR twice. I waited less than ten minutes (if that) for the first ride, immediately got in line again and waited less than 5 before I was in the car.

This was a Thursday.

The only time I have ever been able to ride this ride without a huge wait was when we used Early Entry to get into the park at 7:00am. Both times we were waiting in line for the park at around 6:40am.

I'm sure there are still certain times on certain days (weekends) where the waits are horrible, but we were there before and after Halloween time and found it not to be as bad as expected, or long wait times as often as in previous trips.

We're not up for rushing to the ride at rope drop. Instead we check out the wait times and ask how long they think single rider wait is and go with that. We will then get FP's if they are still available. One our trip we got them between noon and 1 p.m. for return at 6 or 7 p.m.which was perfect so we could also ride after dark.

So I'd say take advantage of SR and FP if possible. If not, maybe use an app to see how long the wait is and when its down a bit, head for the ride!

Ok...it sounds like it's a little bit better then last year, but not much. We have two kids (8, 6) so single rider is not a possibility for us. We will just make a dash at rope drop.

Thanks!

Is the fastpass location by the ride now? It use to be somewhere else if I remember correctly.
