So if i get a FP in the am it will have a night return time? Even if I am right there in the early am? so if i get to CA, first thing is to send hubby to get the FP?

No. The FPs distributed when DCA opens will be for about 40 minutes later. Then the return times will stretch out from there.

What you will get depends on which day you go, how early you arrive at the gates, whether you have EMH, and if you don't have EMH whether it is an EMH for others. You have not stated any of these things so it is hard to say what you will get.

FWIW, I was at DCA yesterday (Sat., Aug. 11). I'm staying off-site, so I did not have any Early Admission.

I got to the main entrance at DCA at 7:15am. (There were about 8 people in front of me in the line at the DCA entrance.)

I entered DCA at 7:30am and walked with purpose to the FP line for RSR. (It's pretty obvious where the FP line starts, because a CM holds a sign that says "RSR Fastpass Line Starts Here." At 7:32 the CM with the sign was walking quickly as the line was getting long real fast. At 7:32 I got in the FP line by the Carthay Circle Theater.

At 8:00am the line for RSR FPs started moving.

At 8:14am I got RSR FPs. The Return Time was 10:30am - 11:30am.

Around 7:20pm I used the RSR FPs. I waited a liittle over 20 minutes in the FP Return Line, and rode RSR around 7:45pm.

I like Radiator Springs Racers. I thought it was very cute. :thumbsup2

aloha,
Usually they run out about 10:00 am. The line is very long.
That said yesterday Aug 11 got to DCA at 12:00pm went directly to RSR to the single rider line an only had to wait 12 minutes, Rode RSR 5X in 2hrs. I kept going back to the single rider line because the wait were so short. Probably because it was a black out day for all passes except premium. Even the regular line was only 1hr. What a great day to be a solo traveler.

aloha,

thanks, i dont have EMH so would be there for 8 am opening. how early can you get on line for that? you dont have to use FP at the time? this is first trip to DL for us. we are going on Friday the 17th.

They have been opening the turnstiles at 730am to allow you in to line up for FP for RSR.

For now at DL, the FP return time is not enforced, so you can go back anytime on the same day, just not earlier than the first time stated. Check the Disneyland site calendar for EMH days and, if it helps and you are able, don't go on those days. I would get to the DCA gates at least 45 minutes before they open if you want to get a FP faster.

Hi, I just want to make sure I know what I'm doing. We will have EMH as we're staying at PPH, so we'll get in at 7:00am. If they are letting people in early at 7:30 to line up for RSR fastpasses when should we get in line for them? I thought I had read in another post that 7:45 was good enough. Now I'm confused again. ???? :confused3

The non-EMH folks get let in at 7:30 but are held back from the FP machines until 8AM. So the EMH people get first show at the FP machines.

Thank you HydroGuy, that makes me feel a little more confident about my plan. We'll be there tomorrow!!!

Just make sure everyone is actually IN the park! you can't just send one person into the park with everyone elses tickets to get fastpasses, you all have to go through the turnstiles and activate your tickets, then one person can take all the tickets and go wait in line if you like :)

There are 2 lines. EMH line is at the FP machines, they start the line at Carthay Circle for the 8am guests. At 8am, they move the line from Carthay and merge it with the EMH line. As long as you are in line by 755am, you are fine.

When staying at the Disneyland Hotel, we entered on our EMH and rode rides untill about 10 to 8 when I took everyone elses tickets in our party and went and stood in the fast pass line (it is a seperate line from the line for people entering the park at the regular 8 am time) while they went and got us breakfast cones and coffee from the Cozy Cone motel and brought me mine in line. This worked so perfect for us, and by the way the breakfast cones are unreal good and the coffee was really good! so happy to get good coffee in Radiator Springs!

I must have been right behind you. We got there at 7:15 and got our FPs by about 8:20. Our return time was 10:45 AM. We wee to antsy to wait so we went right at 10:45. It was so worth getting up early for. We loved this ride.

I was in line for a FP at 7:45 and had FP in hand at 8:20 with a return time of 10:30 last Mon. On Wed, my family's second ride on RSR was via stand-by. We were in line at 8:15 and were on the ride by 8:40. There was no wait in the single line. The line for the FP (approximately 8:45) on Thur was incredible as it stretched all the way to the Hyperion Theater. RSR is a must do, but on subsequent rides it is not worth the 90-120+ min wait times.

How long is the wait time if you use EMH and just head to RSR, and skip the Fastpass?

Well, that is what everyone else will be doing, since they don't distribute FPs during EMH. If RSR is up and running during EMH and you are in the first group of people to enter the RSR queue, you will have about a 10-15 minute wait. This is assuming you were at the gates early and towards the front of things. If you show up right at the start of EMH and are towards the back of the pack, you are looking at 20-30 minutes, which is still pretty good!

Just make sure you are in the EMH line for RSR FPs before 8am. :thumbsup2

Staying off site across the street from DLr. so if I plan to be FP runner, I hope to get in line at 715. If the rest of my party doesn't want to get there that early, when is the latest they could/should get to DCA to get their tickets to me...or is this not advisable? Everyone else in the party can ride single rider but we have a 4 year old who I know will love it at least once. Thanks!
