Well I called Disneyland this morning and a man told me that it will be 48 inches. I checked there website and while it doesn't say 48 inches, I did find something interesting. Last week when I checked on side of page where it should say height requirments,it said something like mild and kids ride. That has all changed it now simply says thrill ride and doesn't that mean for old kids. Any opinions?

It kind of makes me glad that we opted to go the week before CL opens. I already had to break it to my youngest son that he is about 1/2 inch too short for Indy and he was OK with it since he is able to ride Space Mountain (which he couldn't last year at WDW.) I'm not so sure he would be as OK with having to miss out on RSR.

I doubt it will be 48". Test track at WDW, which RSR is based on, has a height requirement of 40".

I'm not sure what you are asking about exactly. If 48" means "old kids" or if "thrill ride" means "old kids."

First, I'm not sure what "old kids" means. There is not an age requirement to go on RSR. If you are 48" tall, you can ride.

I think it is a fast ride, if that is the same as "thrill," but we have known that all along.

Is this meant for the little kiddies? No. However, I am not sure I have ever seen it marketed as such, either.

Not sure what you are asking, but I would say it is definitely more a thrill ride than a gentle one.

Just pulling this out of my backside but, it is possible that it may be 48" to ride alone, or smaller if they are accompanied by parents -- I believe a few other rides have this as well ---- (not saying that is WHAT it is, but that is what it may be)

I would say it will be 48", I hope it is not for some of you folks.

I think it would be really sad to build a land around something so loved by little kids and then have something that they can't ride. There are going to be a lot of little guys walking around crying. If 48" is true, then shame on Disney.
DL is supposed to be a family park, not a Six Flags.

I doubt it'll be 48"-but my barely-6 year old girl is that tall. It's not like 48" would only restrict to 12 or above or anything-most (obviously not all) kids hit that height pretty young. As I said in your LAST thread on this subject, even though we still have a small child, I sure don't want DL to only be for the littlest ones. The rest of us want to have rides for us , too!

My bets are with bdoyledimou's backside ;)

It would make the most sense.

Aren't Cars loved by many more than just little kids? There are three new attractions in Carsland that can be ridden --- one is a fast thrill ride that is (rumored to be) not safe for those under 48" tall. As someone posted above, that's not really a height that one has to wait until adulthood to reach. Not everything in every area of Disneyland or DCA is meant for the smallest of kids. Why will there be lots of "little guys walking around crying"? Because there is ONE thing they can't do? I think that there is are valuable life lessons in there somewhere about patience and leaving things to look forward to in life.

...then shame on Disney. DL is supposed to be a family park, not a Six Flags
Kudos to Disney for realizing DL is supposed to be for ALL families, not just those with small children.

DLR is for everyone, not just little kids,

I read here http://ocresort.ocregister.com/2012/05/17/disney-unveils-new-facts-about-cars-land/112947/ that the height requirement would be 42". The only reason I remembered was that my little one is sooo close to 40" and we are hoping he will get there by the time we go. There is no way he is gonna make the 42", and if its 48" I dont think my other kids will be able to ride either. Bummer!

I am hoping this is correct as my DS7 is about 46 inches and is so looking forward to CarsLand!

I'm waiting until June 15th with the height restriction as I've seen a variety of things. I've told DS that he may be able to go or he may not. (he specifically asked at the doctor yesterday to get his height checked then jumped off and said "so I can do radiator racers?" To which I said I didn't know and he might not be able to. (and pointed out that he'd be able to ride Luigi's tires).

I'm anxious for the grand opening so all these questions could be answered and to get copies of menus. Just a few short weeks...

They wouldn't set a HR that high just to decrease demand to a more manageable level, would they?

I agree that DL is for all ages; however, adults can ride and enjoy the "kiddie" rides, but the kids cannot enjoy the more grownup rides. So in that regard, DL is not for everyone. I have no problem with there being rides that exclude small kids, like Screamin', but all the rides in CarsLand should be available to all ages because Cars is a kid's thing.
I do understand that Disney wants to draw in the adults because they are the ones that spend the money.

but all the rides in CarsLand should be available to all ages because Cars is a kid's thing.

Even Fantasyland has an attraction with a height requirement (the Matterhorn), and that land is quite obviously intended mostly for the small child contingent.

One attraction being directed toward slightly older children isn't taking away the rest of Carsland from the small children. And as others pointed out, it's not like RSR will be ridden only by 10+ y/os. My nephew is about to turn 6, and he's maybe 47" right now. It won't take him long before he hits 48".

im just happy my son can go on Indy, but I dont know how much difference it is from the 48" for Rs, but i know the test track in wdw was fast and i think it was 46" it was so fast i liked that and wished for one in Dl/Dca lol Now we need an animal park here and we would be set. (no need for me go to wdw ill stay in cali lol

with that said i hope its 42" so every one whos well sorta old enough can ride it. my sons been short for ever.lol

When we went in 2010, I'm pretty sure the HR for Test Track was only 40" - my 5-yr-old was able to ride it. She made 46" at about 6.5 years.

Maybe Disney aimed the ride towrads the demographics of the majority of visitors to the parks and that has some thrill to it. The past been full of people criticizing how lame the park was...this will step it up a bit and those with the $$$ will make more frequent trips. And then again maybe all this "sky is falling" conjecture will not pan out at all.
