Raddison vs Hampton Inn or is another better?

We are on the Nov 2nd Magic and we are driving to Orlando. I orginally booked the Raddison for the night before but we were only able to get a one room king with a pullout couch and a rollaway bed. From the look on the website it appears as if the room is rather small and we will be very crowded.

I called the Hampton Inns and was able to get a room with 2 double beds and a pullout with a microwave, refrig and breakfast the next morning for $15.00 a night less.

Both hotels offer a free shuttle the next morning but we plan on driving to the port so that isn't an issue to us. Is one hotel better than the other. Is the Hampton Inn very far from the port? Is there another hotel that I haven't mentioned that is much better? We are desperately looking for comfort after driving 16 straight hours with 3 kids. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Melissa! Your thread was filled with alot of great information. After looking around at Dave's site I am even more confused. The Quality Suite also looks just right because it offers two rooms and a king bed so all of us can sleep in peace. I've never stayed at a Quality Suite. Anyone know about this hotel?

5 days to go. I shoulda done this sooner!

I booked the Hampton Inn for the night before my cruise in the middle of December. I spoke with the hotel, directly, and there is a "cruise special" which is $89 a night. You get a room with a balcony, ocean-view, king-sized bed, microwave, refrigerator, and free continental breakfast.

The price also includes parking while you are on your cruise and "shuttle service". According to the hotel, the shuttle service is actually a voucher for a cab to the port, before the trip, and back from the port to the hotel, after the trip. The only drawback I can see with this, is that they will not allow you to use your voucher prior to noon on the day of departure, so if you want to get there earlier, you'll have to find another way. This is some sort of arrangement the hotel has with the cab company.

I haven't, yet, been to this hotel, but they were certainly very nice on the phone.

I cannot speak about any other hotel except the Radisson, which we stayed at prior to our cruise in June. All I can say is that we3 will never stay there again! For the price we paid, which was with a discount, we expected the room and decor to be cleaner. We also felt uncomfortable when we went to the restaurant and wanted to order from the menu instead of going with the buffet. The waiter gave us a dirty look and questioned us a number of times if we wanted the buffet instead. I finally had to tell him "if our family wanted the buffet we would have ordered the buffet. May we please see a menu."

When we schedule our next cruise we will stay someplace else!

I may get flamed for my reply, but this is how we felt. I'm sure there are many that enjoy this hotel. Remember, this is our two cents worth.

We have stayed at the Radisson and the Hampton. We love the Radisson and plan to do it again this weekend for our 11-3 Wonder cruise. They are both good places to stay. 6 y/o son loves the pool at the Radisson but he also loved being able to walk to the beach from our room at Hampton. You do have the convenience of the fridge and breakfast at the Hampton. Breakfast at the Radisson is very expensive to us but we will probably not be eating there this trip. I think it just depends on how long you will have to spend there. Our flight comes in at 10:30 am and son plans to do alot of swimming. He will definitely need to unwind after the flight and the excitement of the cruise and getting to go this time with his cousins.

I think either of these places is a good choice depending on the rate you get. We booked early for the Radisson and got the $59 rate. Good Luck with your decision!

It is me the Mrs. JeffV71 and we stayed at the Radisson before our Cruise on October 20, 2002. We love the shuttle service. The room was just OK. I have terrible allergies and I SNEEZED ALL NIGHT. I am not sure if there was mold... dust.. or what in that room.

We did get the buffet and we thought we were ripped off. First of all we felt pressured into getting it from our waitor and that is a whole other story.

I think that we will try another place next time! In the end our car was very safe!!
