Have you ever wondered why the word partial means both 'inclined toward' and 'having or divided into parts'?

But like, lets say theres a cake on the table, and your going to eat a portion of it, well thats partial, because it isn't whole.

The meaning is like if someone is asking an opinion and one if them relates to you, then your partial to it.
