Double Issues are not new at Rachel Ray - however, their own website is not consistent from page to page.
The below is from their Customer Service FAQ page, which differs from the subscription order page information (11 issues), as previously posted by another DISer.
Every Day with Rachael Ray publishes 10 issues per year, with bi-monthly issues in December/January and July/August
(although this year their summer Double issue was June/July)...I knew going in that my 'One Year Subscription' was actually 10 issues, however, I didn't agree to any additional "special' issue that would reduce my subscription to 9 issues per year. This practice, while may be getting more popular with companies, leaves a very bad impression on the consumer.
Also, thanks to OP...I am one of those people that didn't read the letter, I thought it was a renewal plea, and since I have another 4 months, I tossed it. Thank you for posting this info.
