I know this may not be the right forum to post this, but I just found out Race Rock restaurant on I drive in Orlando has closed permanently.

I was going to recommend it to a client traveling to Orlando this week, and when I went to the website I found out they'd closed a few weeks ago.

I read an article and there was a blurb from one of the co-owners saying they've had lots of offers for the land over the years, but they finally got one they couldn't refuse.

We loved that place! :sad2:

WOW, I had seen that place over and over, but just recently ate there for the first time, I am sorry i did not go more often, there food was GREAT!
WOW

I quess I have to write that one off our list. We had that one planned for our trip in June

Oh no! That was the only place we KNEW we were going to dine at, outside WDW. :(

Any other theme restaurants outside of the parks that a young boy would enjoy?

That stinks, my son was so looking forward to that.

He may not be able to eat there but if you check out the links on their site, you can buy him collectibles from their decor.

It didn't close because they weren't doing good business, what happened is the property values in the area are increasing so much it makes more sense to have a more high end restaurant which is supposedly what the new owners (who used to own the old King Henry's Feast) are putting in!!As somebody said they must have made them an offer to good to turn down!!

Absolutely gutted really enjoyed it last year we are going to wdw in august, going with friends with children and they were looking forward to going to race rock.:sad2:

Those of you who really liked Race Rock may want to consider going to Nascar Sports Grille at Universal's CityWalk. CW parking is free after 6pm.

and loved it. The restaurant has completely been redone and it's very nice. The flat screen tv's at each booth are a nice plus and my boys loved it. We had the asian wings, the tower of o'rings, pizza, fries and dessert and it was all great! (arteries are clogging as I write this, but it was a good meal):rotfl2:

Oh man how disappointing, it was always our only nice meal out, my ex was too tight. shouldn't have let him take all the glasses from there in the divorce.
