Good luck everyone. And, Cindy, you'll have to let me know how the Warrior Dash went. :thumbsup2

I ran a 5k this morning, with a new PR- 25:21! It gives me hope that I will make my goal of sub-25 this year. Good luck to everyone this weekend!

My 10k this morning was canceled due to storms, but the storms cleared I ended up being able to run a 5k with Dean Karnazes instead an hour later. He was in town to promote the north face marathon I'm running in a couple months. It was a pretty awesome time, so I wasn't quite as bummed my first run was canceled.

This was my first time ever running back to back races. Yesterday morning's run was hot and humid (upper 70s and dew points in the 60s), but I was happy with my time (27.40) considering the conditions. And then we got to play in the water park that hosted the race afterwards (I tried to keep my Disney waterparks are better comments to a minimum).

This morning I got up and I felt pretty good. I may have had a mojito and some beer last night despite my usual no alcohol before a race policy, but I went to bed really early and slept like a log. My quads were a bit tight but I did a half mile warmup on the track at the high school where the race was and really stretched out. It was cooler this morning, too. When the gun went off I settled into an easy pace, but soon I found myself speeding up. About 3/4 of a mile in I settled in right behind a high school lacrosse girl (she was wearing her lacrosse top) and I ran a step or two behind her for the rest of the race until we were finishing on the track--where she and I went back and forth. The reward for this effort? A new PR--26.46 :goodvibes

I never expected to PR in the summertime, especially not on a day when I had raced the previous day!

On Saturday I ran the Seattle Rock & Roll 1/2 marathon.
It was great weather. No rain and partially cloudy.
My finish time was 1:54:23 - a new PR for me.
So I'll receive a special metal for doing 2 R&R's.
Now it's on to training for the Disneyland 1/2 marathon so I can get my Coast to Coast metal!:cool1:
