:jumping1: GO! WISH Team GO! :jumping1:

My race wasn't listed above but I ran my first 5K tonight! I broke my time goal with a time of 29:45. I'm floating! It was cold and rainy (high 50's) but I didn't care when my foot touched that mat at the finish line. The best experience ever.

Wow - that's great!! Congrats!

Congrats! Are you addicted yet?

I ran the Pittsburgh Marahon yesterday. The good news is, I have a new PR by 25 minutes! I ran the last 8.2 miles with terrible leg cramps, but I made it!

I ran the Maryland Half Marathon yesterday, and I had an awesome race! I PRed by 11 minutes and broke all of my goals, despite the fact that the course was super hilly and the humidity was really high making temps in the mid-70s somewhat uncomfortable.

Yes, I am addicted. Now I just have to decide what's next. :cool1:

Congrats on the new PR! Way to tough it out!

Congratulations everyone on your runs, especially the PRs and firsts.

I also ran Pittsburgh but since I haven't done as much running this spring because of the garbage weather we had I wasn't expecting a great time. I ended up with 1:32:20 which is about what I expected. There was some drizzle at the start which turned into a light mist by the time I got to about mile 2. It was in the 60's which made the drizzle feel pretty good. By the end my shoes and socks were pretty wet and I started to feel it in my left foot. I also had a tight right calf but not anything that slowed me down.

The whole race weekend though was well organized and the event was very well run. I would recommend this race to anyone. The expo was pretty big, the goody bag had some great stuff in it including a pair of Nike running socks, an the course was great even though it was a bit challenging. I thought the weather would keep a lot of spectators away but other than one stretch around mile 10 (where you turn back and start heading north) there were people everywhere. I do think they need to add a few water stops. The rain kind of lessoned the need for them, at least for the half, but if it was 60 and didn't rain I know I would have needed more hydration.

I stayed at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh right on Point State Park and it was the perfect hotel for the race. Once the car was parked we didn't have to get in again until we left. It was .6 miles to the expo, 1 mile to Station Square where we had lunch and went up the incline to see some nice views of the city, and just under a mile to the pre-race pasta dinner and finish line.

Great job to everyone who ran this weekend - Congrats on the great races!

I ran my second half marathon on Sunday - did the Cellcom Green Bay Half. The weather was less than ideal - constant 15-25 MPH winds with gusts to 45 mph. All people talked about leading up the the event was how windy it was going to be! Luckily the rain moved out during the night and so it was at least sunny, but chilly with 40 degrees and that wind.

Luckily, the half course did not have a lot of headwind, the wind was NNE and the course was mostly east/west, so I was very happy it was not as bad as I expected. We only had a few streches into the wind, but those were tough. The marathoners had about a 6 mile stretch directly into the wind - from some reports I've read it was just brutal.

I ran pretty good considering my training this spring was lacking due to poor weather here, like others have mentioned. I really only did about 5 long runs over the course of 8 weeks, and I finished exactly 5 minutes over my time from the half I did last fall - finished 2:16. Several people have noted that the course tracked long on their garmins, mine did too - about .3 longer. I did weave quite a bit and took some corners wide due to crowding. It was a big event with 9,000 runners (half and full didn't split until mile 11) and it was pretty packed the first 2 miles, but they added a couple of blocks onto the course from last years route, so I'm not sure if it was a little long.

Either way it was a great event - the final .5 mile was a lap around the warning track in Lambeau Field - we got to run up the player tunnel and out onto the field, loop around it, then go back out the player tunnel. Pretty cool experience - with crowds in the stands cheering for us.

Way to go everyone, especially with all the PR's etc. despite the crazy weather! :thumbsup2

I did my first 10K on Sat - the Run!Ballantyne 10K in Charlotte NC. Finished in 53:21, so I am very excited to submit that for the Princess and hopefully get into Corral A. :goodvibes

I initially thought Princess would be my first Half, but I'm going to be ready this fall for my first, so now I am focusing on exactly which one to do. Still thinking heavily on Thunder Road, here in Charlotte. It's in early November - it's a hilly course, but I'm used to this terrain, and the weather should be ideal. Plus, it's local and will keep the traveling costs down so I can save up more for the Disney Princess trip. :cool1:
