I am not sure what I need to do so I was hoping someone could give me some advice...

I fell down my stairs at home on Wednesday and finally broke down and went to the dr. today my foot is terribly bruised, I thought I had broken my big toe but I figured I would tape it up and go on.. well it is broken at the joint so no taping I saw a sports dr. today and he took me off all impact to the foot for 4 weeks in hopes it heals correctly. If it doesn't I will need surgery to re-break it and a pin placed in my big toe.. As ridiculous as it sounds I wish it was a joke.. but sadly it isn't.

Both myself and my daughter are registered already got our waivers etc.. for the Tinkerbell 1/2 in two weeks. Do we just notify Run Disney we will not be there? My daughter is 17 and doesn't want to do it without me and since I am not racing that is an awful lot of money tied up just for a short visit to Disneyland, plus now I may have to save that time to be off work for surgery if it all doesn't come back together right.

I am at a loss we were able to save on our airfare because it was booked on frequent flyer miles but our DVC points at PP we will probably loose..

Sorry typing this through all the tears is not working too good trying real hard to put my big girl pants on and deal with this..

Just curious do I just contact Run Disney to let them know we will not be running in the race. I understand the no refunds etc.. it is what it is but I was just curious what I should do.

Don't really have any answers but just wanted to say I'm really sorry to hear what happened. Good luck!

You don't have to do anything. If you know someone that is going there is a way to get your packet, etc. If not you don't have to notify Disney that you won't be coming.

Sorry you won't be able to do the race. Really stinks!

Looking at your DVC signature I'm sure you know you could try and rent your points if you are going to lose them. It's last minute, but someone might see the deal and contact you?

Good luck!

Sorry to hear of your injury. A Chris said, one really does not need to do anything. It doesn't hurt though ifs you do either.

I would definitely look to rent points and to refund or repopulate your miles back into your frequent flier account. Not sure of your airline, I know Continental just almost made it cost prohibitive to put points back into your account. I would assume other airlines would also have some penalty... Hopefully not a severe one

I'm SO sad for you! I'm working with a sports medicine dr/cardio with an injury I got on my 10 miler. It turns out I had a cuboid severly out of place, that she popped back in today (OW!), but it caused a stress fracture while it was out. It looks like the fracture might be in a place that won't affect my running, but she's monitoring a 2 miler tomorrow, and 2, 6 milers next week, with the understanding she could stop me at any time. :( I am sorry you are going through this. It is a heartache to work SO hard for SO long for something inspiring and not go through with it. When I first hurt my foot I cried off and on for a while. Now I just have nightmares about finishing in time, or breaking my entire leg.

Soooo sad. So stressful.:grouphug:

Thanks guys & gals ;-)

I am going to put my points up real quick it is too late to cancel but maybe just maybe someone will need the reservation ;-)

I was able to redeposit my points back in ff account on Delta, thank goodness for Platinum status and there was not a fee to do it ;-)

I am better but still just in shock that this happened and cannot believe it still.. :sad2:

I'm not sure if there's a difference with DVC points and contracts, but our DVC booking was canceled on us (long story) five days before we were supposed to show up for the Disney Marathon weekend, and all they did was move the points into a holding account and they need to be used before the use year ends. Perhaps your points have something similar?

I hate being sidelined by injuries like that. I hope it's best case scenario for you!

Thanks PrincessRhi but our use year is February so they would have to be used immediately which stinks... I just put them up for Rent on the Disboards... hated to do it so bad!
