Even if we rent a car and do not use ME can we utilize RAC? Sorry, we've been the last three years to disney and I still am learning things! lol

RAC and ME are not connected.

You utilize RAC when you leave WDW. You can use this to check your luggage to go to the airport. As long as your airline is participating you can use RAC. You do not have to take ME back to the airport, as the pp indicated they are not connected.

and remember RAC has very limited hours, I believe they are 5am to 1pm. and luggage must be checked 3 hours prior to your flight.

The math is fine.

If the flight is at 8:01am, you can check your luggage at 5am and be fine. Admittedly, you'd have to be there right when RAC opens and hope to have an agent who can work quickly.

Because it has to be within 12 hours and the RAC closes at 1pm, anything earlier than that doesn't work - for example, if your flight is at 6am, your window is from 6pm to 3am and RAC is not open during those hours.
