Rabbi?

Yes!!! my daughter was married last year at the WP and they found a wonderful Rabbi. His name is Steven Engel and he has done several weddings at the WP. He is affiliated in Orlando at the North Reform Congregation (I think that is what it is called) if not I can check with my daughter and post it for you. They did have to go to some Jewish marriage encounter sessions that he requires but they didn't mind that at all. He was wonderful and did a beautiful ceremony.

I think there are two rabbis that disney lists (in the wishbook and some other materials) as having officiated weddings at disney in the past. I will be in touch with them in the next week or two when I find out if I have gotten my date but am happy someone else is looking for recommendations, too!

My daughter had contacted those Rabbi's that disney had the info on. They had an interview with one of them and she said he was awful, not professional at all and did not come to the interview very neatly dressed. The other one she had called and left messages and they were never returned. Hope you have better luck.

The Winter Park Rabbi, Engel will not do weddings unless you join his congregation to the tune of close to $2,000. The Disney recommended Rabbi Lefkowitz's phone is disconnected. A board member provided me with a "current" e-mail address for him, but I sent an e-mail over 4 days ago and have yet to receive a response at all. They met with the other Disney recommended Rabbi who was very rigid, odd, and quite frankly rude to them. When my daughter expressed discomfort with some of the rituals he wanted to make part of the ceremony he told them they should look for an officiant who isn't a rabbi. This seemed very rude and out of place for him to say.

If anyone has had better success than we have finding a rabbi in the past month or so, maybe you can share the information for everyone on the board.

we just got married on the 6th and had Dr. Richard Cowin as our rabbi. Everyone at the ceremony seemed to love him. I am Jewish and my wife is not jewish, so we wanted somewhat of an interfaith wedding. The ceremony was a little more Traditional Jewish than I thought it would be, but looking back at it, it was perfect. The rabbi was promptly early for the rehearsal and the ceremony, read a personal story of Trace and I and was comical at times. He also was usually very prompt in sending emails as well.
here is his website.

Hope this helps at all

Hey, We were originally going to go with Rabbi Lefkowitz and called him about a year out, when we got to about 7 months we called him to set up a meeting for when we were down for our planning session and he then said that he couldn't do it :scared1:, He gave us the name of another rabbi, I believe it was cowan, but because we were having a saturday wedding he actually asked if we could change the day of the wedding after we had the date set for over 6 months.

So we then went on a frantic search for a rabbi and found this site http://mypersonalcantor.com/ she was already booked for that weekend but her partner Rabbi Steven Spiegel was available and he has been great and has already started working with Rev Tim Herring for our interfaith wedding. He is really nice and fiarly prompt responding to emails and phone calls. If you want his contact info please let me know.

Hope you find someone.

MinnieBride was kind enough to provide me with the contact info for Rabbi Lefkowitz. I emailed him about a week ago and have yet to get ANY response from him.

Good Luck

Can you forward Rabbi Lefkowitz's email address to me? Need to reach him, and, as you know, his phone numbers are disconnected. Did you ever get a response from him?
