I know that a mimosa is usually just orange juice and champagne right?

I want to make them in a pitcher that i can just pour out of. Any idea what the ratio of champagne to o.j. is?

Also if anyone has any variations of a traditional mimosa recipe I would love to hear them. I read about one once with passion fruit or pineapple juice.

ps. is it better to use Brut or Spamonti (?sp)

Found this recipe for you:

Mimosas Garnished with Strawberries:

1 quart freshly squeezed orange juice
1 fifth of champagne
a pint of fresh strawberries.

Wet rim of champagne glasses and dip in sugar. Freeze glasses
Wash strawberries, but do not hull.

Pour orange juice into a punch bowl set in ice. Pour champagne over and stir once or
twice. Ladle into glasses and garnish each with a split strawberry on the rim.

Another site mentioned using Cranberry juice in place of the orange juice - you might give that a try.

Another recipe called for equal parts orange juice and champagne and then topping it with a dash of Grand Marnier.

Sorry - that was all I could find for you. Hope it helped!

Thanks Beth. That's exactly what I was looking for.

I guess I'll find out next weekend how it is. I might experiment this weekend at a mother's day brunch I am having. We'll see, I don't want to get grandma too liquored up ;) LOL

Thanks again!!
