R&C Illuminations area for patrons question

Is R&C like Cali Grill in the sense that you can eat and return with your receipt to view the fireworks from their area? I'm interested in eating at R&C early in the evening (around 6:00 pm) and take my DD to sleep while DH stays for Illuminations with DS. Can they go back to R&C and use the viewing area for R&C patrons? Anyone done this?

I would also guess that the answer is no, because the area is set aside so that people who are currently eating can go out, see the show and then return to their meals without having to go out much before the show starts to get a "good view". If people who aren't eating were allowed back in, it might fill up the area before the current patrons would get out there.

IllumiNations was designed to be viewed from all around World Showcase (there are some areas without a good/clear view, but as long as you can see the center of the lagoon, you should be fine).
