It looks like one of my WDW trip days will be a non-park day. DD and I will probably go to Blizzard Beach, then go back to resort (CBR) for awhile. I would like to go to DTD later that day, mostly for the shopping, but the only way I would be able to drag DD13 there is to have a PS at a DTD area restaurant. ("We don't get to eat dinner unless you and I go to DTD!" My word, I think my DD is the only teen girl who hates shopping!!)

ANYWAY, what I need are some suggestions for dinner in DTD area. I know there are lots of choices...However, DD is a pretty picky eater; only likes very plain food (Like plain steak and potato, prime rib, pork chop) with no spices, so I would like to go some place where the food is good and has several choices for DD.

I was leaning toward Olivias at OKW; have not read much about it, though. Would like to have the chance to see what this resort looks like...

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

get on wdwig.com and look over the menus--better yet, let your DD look over the menus.
Many times you can get food made "plainer" at most eateries with absolutely no problem. My DS and DD don't always go for the sauces, reductions, cheese etc. that come on steaks.
There are just too many places to choose from for me to give you a single location. :wave2:

We tried Cap'n Jacks in DD and really did not like it all. The food was overpriced and was not that good. I think a few others on this board have also felt this way. Just a heads up.

Make sure you save room though for a sundae at Ghirardelli's....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm:bounce:

Although the wait might be long, a teen might like Planet Hollywood. I'm not sure about their current menu, but you should be able to get burgers. I think someone mentioned to check out allearsnet.com for the menus of all restaurants.

Our choice at DTD is Rainforest Cafe. Such a fun setting, and the food is basic but good! I have two picky sons (12 and 15) and they both love Rainforest Cafe!

Dtd has transportation to all the resorts. Why not dine at one youve been dying to check out?

The Rainforest Cafe DTD is a great suggestion. I also have eaten in Olivia's in OKW and I absoulutely LOVED it. It has a nice selection and we were very pleased with the quality of the food and the service.

Another vote for the Rainforest Cafe! We love it! You can't make a PS there, you need to call in the morning or possibly go over and make a reservation...your reservation must be made the day of. Aslo, you can stop there as soon as you get to DTD, put your name on the list, then shop for an hour or two and come back to eat.

Would it encourage your teen to visit DTD if a trip to DisneyQuest was involved? They have Cheesecake Factory counter service inside, great food and the games are a blast. DH and I try to take one day of our trip to spend time there, we've found it to be a good deal for an evening of entertainment.

I see there are a lot of suggestions for Rain Forest Cafe. I'm going to offer a counter position. I've eaten there (and the one at AK) a couple of times and was not at all impressed. Once you get past the decor and the noise, you quickly find that your menu choices are a bit overpriced. Interesting menu, but still way to expensive. We also have had some pretty poor service in both places. Enough disappointments that we decided there were other places at WDW we would rather spend out money.

Where? In DTD, we are very happy with Portobello Yacht Club. Not inexpensive (not outrageous either), but good service and great food.
