Quoted Higher Price for DDP - Is this common?

We were interested in doing the DDP from 10/23/2011 to 10/29/2011 which isn't part of the peak season as indicated in the sticky above. That said, when I just called to get prices for adding the DDP to our package the CM quoted me a price up and BEYOND the peak season rate.

According to the first post the DDP should run this:

Basic Dining Plan
* Adults $45.99 (regular season), $47.99 (peak season*)
* Children $11.99 (regular season), $12.99 (peak season*)
*Peak Seasons: 2/17/11 - 2/26/11, 3/11/11 - 4/30/11, 6/3/11 - 8/13/11, 12/23/11 - 12/31/11

She, however, quote me a price of $51.99 per day for Adults and $15.99 a day for Children. (We are staying at the POLY and booked with a PIN discount).

Yikes! This adds an additional $132 for us as compared to what is quoted in the first post. Have they raised their prices?? I saw in the first post that they have been noted for quoting higher prices. How do I get the lower price instead? lol.

Warning, warning....rumor mill, rumor mill...

Could this be next year's price for DDP?? :scared1:

uugghh...very frustrated right now.
Do I call them back and complain. I know..very silly but I am not sure we would choose to the DDP at that rate as one of our "adults" is a very skinny, eats-like-a-bird-just-turned-10-year old.

Definitely call back. You will get a different person, so don't complain. Just politely tell them what you were quoted and that you thought it was higher advertised. You'll likely get the correct price.

I sure hope that's not the new price. $4 dollars a day is about what I would save anyways (sometimes more) if I got the dining plan. However, if they raise the dining plan price I'm sure all character meals will be raised about the same.

Seriously this is frustrating. This is a vicious cycle! I agree with everyone- they do basically force you to get the dining plan if you plan on doing any kind of character meals.

How do the people on the phone not know the correct place for the dining plan? That is weird.

Update: Called back and talked to a different CM and got the lower rate. The thing is, they are very sneaky in that they won't quote you a rate per person...only a total package cost when adding it to an existing reservation.
I knew before hand how much my room only reservation was and how much park tickets with the hopper option + tax was going to cost me so I knew the cost of 3 adults + 1 kid Six day dining package should cost me around $900.
When I called the first time, she actually quoted me the $51.99 + $15.99 price for a total of $1032. I knew this was more than I expected to pay so when I called the second time I asked why I was quoted this larger amount. The new CM couldn't tell me "actual" rates, but did figure out that it should only cost me $905 which was within $5 of what I expected to pay. Lesson to be learned...make sure you know what you are getting into beforehand and be ready to call back and talk to someone else if you don't get the answer you want the first time.

I also price mine online first so I can see the breakdown of costs before I call...there was a discrepancy in mine too...turns out the CM added the vacation insurance without even asking me if I wanted it or not.
