You asked your English husband! Cheating surely??? :goodvibes
Only number 5 was wrong, although it does mean that too...not what I was thinking of though

hmmm.. would it be cheating for me to play? I'd still have to know the US words!!

I wonder how many other words there are? I can think of three more:

trunk
apartment
vacation

Flat
Holiday!

It's no test for us in the UK because we are so exposed to US media that we even use these words sometimes!

My guesses
  1. Snog - Kiss
  2. Biscuit - Cookie
  3. crisps - Potato Chips
  4. Candy Floss - Cotton Candy
  5. Lounge - Living room
  6. Rubbish - Garbage/Trash
  7. Tights - Panty Hose
  8. Lift - Elevator
  9. bird - Chicken
  10. porridge - Oatmeal
  11. Lorry - Bus
  12. nappy - Diaper
  13. dummy - Manikin

How did I do?

Now to see what others thought.

ETA: I got bird, lory and dummy wrong. I guess I need to watch more BBC America. :rotfl:

I love to watch What Not To Wear on BBC and like what they call clothes, jumper neck(?) for turtle neck and call tennis shoes trainers. I know there are more those are just a couple that stand out.
