Hi all,

Myself and my BF are going on our first cruise in October on the Disney Dream. I am beyond excited for the both of us.

I was looking at the quite cove area last night and thought it looked beautiful but my BF pointed out that its very small looking. So my question is does this area tend to get busy all the time.

Also I've watched LOTS of vlogs of people on the Disney dream and I've always noticed that the aqua duck is also so busy. Are there any particular times in the day or evening that you would recommend.

Thanks.

Michelle

Just like when in the parks, the lines will be shortest when everyone else is doing something else. So, right when it opens each morning and nightly once the first dining time starts. Within the last 30 minutes or so before it closes it may even be a walk on.

The deck around the Quiet Cove pool isn't that big, however, there is a set of stairs next to the pool that leads up to an additional adults only deck area that surrounds the pool and continues all the way to the front of the ship. It's never been completely full when we've been there.

Like LSUfan4444 said, Aqua duck lines are shortest early, during first dining and late and also at Castaway Cay.

On the sister ship the Fantasy which is the same the Quite Cover area was always busy with people claiming chairs from early hours. The deck above it was better but still close . Aqua duck is best at opening at 9 am at 6 pm and at 10.30 post pirates night. Look out at opening times in the navigator.

Thank you for your replies.

I definitely want to do it at night , that's a must. We are second seating so I may be able to do it before we get ready for the show.

I must go and have a look at the deck plans to see the entire area around the adult area. thanks.

With the shorter cruises on the Dream, maybe people don't take the time to hang out there as much. I can see how on the Fantasy's 7 day cruises with multiple sea days that the area would get more use.

At some point in Oct (I think) the Dream's Quiet Cove on Deck 13 near the bow is getting upgraded. More water.

Some parts of the ship are being upgraded. We sail on 30th October and the ship seems to be out of actions for a good 3 weeks or so previous to this. they would hardly keep this area closed would they whilst guest are on board.

ok is says
"The Disney Dream 2015 Dry Dock will be in Freeport, Bahamas from October 4 – 24, 2015."
"The changes are not just for the kids; Satellite Falls which is a wonderful spot on the Disney Fantasy will be added to the Disney Dream."

We spent a ton of time in the adult area including the bar pool and it was never busy. It was lovely to sit in the pool and have an adult beverage and have it be quiet.

We did the aqueduct once and it took about 25 minutes to get through the line even though the line said 45.

The quiet cove is dispersed on three decks (11-12-13) Our cruise was completely sold out. During Nassau day it was full (but not at max capacity). The rest of the time it was really quiet. It was my favorite place on the ship. The pool feels a bit small. Swam once and I felt like I was in a "human soup".

I expect my cruise to also be sold out as its the Halloween cruise. I didn't know it was over 3 decks. I''m looking at the plans now. I doubt we are going to spend much time in port in nassau to be honest so hopefully this area wont be too busy. Thanks for the fedback.

At this time, the adult section on the 13th deck should be done (they are adding satellite falls). Most people used to stay around the Quiet Cove pool... but with the arrival of the satellite falls, I would expect the adult crowd to be more "scattered"...

Talking about quiet spots: I suggest to get the Rainforest day pass (I believe it's 18+ as well... Anybody could confirm?) ...

DH and I used it on Nassau morning. We ended up having the showers, hot seats and jacuzzis (with sea view) to ourselves. It was fantastic!

If you're post dry dock, just head straight up to satellite falls! IMO that is the best place on the ship! I get up early, grab a couple cups of coffee and head up there to start my day. I also bring my yoga mat and do my tai chi and sun salutations up there, if only I could start everyday on land that way. You guys are going to love it up there.

BTW, the Dream is also getting a Millenium Falcon in one of the kids clubs in case either of you are Star Wars fans. You can check it out during an open house.

The Dream will head to Freeport, Bahamas for her dry-dock in October. I had a chat with someone who is most definitely "in the know" while on the Dream last month. Per this individual, the Dream is adding a "funnel puddle" pool on deck 12 in front of the forward funnel. "Satellite Falls" and shade structures (similar to the Fantasy) are coming to the Deck 13 adults only area. 687 is being reworked to expand the bar and add additional beer selections on tap (not an O'Gills conversion, just a refresh of the current concept). They're also adding a BBB/Pirates League area on deck 5. Shutters is getting upgraded with more digital technology (similar to what's on the Fantasy). The arcade is being removed and replaced with "Vanellope's Sweet Shop" (thinking it will be for an extra cost). Some areas on the Oceaneer's Club are being redone. A Disney Infinity play area is being added as is a Star Wars area, featuring the Millennium Falcon. The "Explorer Pod" and Monster's Inc. areas are supposedly the areas being changed. Lots of TLC from stem to stern and any work required to renew her seaworthiness certificate will be done. There was also mention of stripping the paint from her hull and repainting her to reduce weight added by the on-the-fly maintenance paint jobs (like they did with the Magic).

Sounds Fab. I just need to decide what we're going to do on our port day at Nassau. Don't think we'll do Atlantis as its far too expensive. I was looking at the day pass for one of the hotels but now i'm thinking of just having a look around then just relaxing on the ship.

Myself an my bf like a lie in so I really really hope we get up and ready early on the ship!!

Is there shade on all 3 decks? We will be on the Dream post-drydock and I liked the look of the cove area because it looked pretty shady there. It would be great to know that we could be on any of the 3 decks. We prefer to avoid the crowds... I had no idea that the adult area could get so crowded!

There are definitely shade on deck 11. Not so much on deck 12... Deck 13 had some already but I think they'll add some more during the dry dock.

Deck 11 definitely has shade. Currently, decks 12 & 13 have little to no shade. The new shade structures up there will be more like rigid awnings than anything else. They'll provide some coverage from sun, but if the weather comes in, they won't do much to stop blowing rain.
