I bought the timeshare with my ex gf a couple of years ago, but have paid for everything so she is willing to sign that off to me. The loan is not paid off yet, so can a quit claim deed still be filed? If so can anyone who has gone through a similar situation help me with this? Thank you.

Sorry. I was in the same position as you were about 6 years ago. To get her name off the deed you have to pay off the contract completely.
Then you have to pass through ROFR first (which is just formality) before you could get the paperwork changed.
If I remember correctly I went through a closing company to get the paperworks completed and it cost us around $300. Someone told me that you could do it yourself for cheaper but I didn't have the time to do that. So I caved in and spent the $.

You'll have to pay it off, maybe get a new loan. Still better than having her on the deed as it's half hers now no matter how much she's paid. I'd get with DVC Member admin so you have all the current rules and forms. I'd get a deed completed and signed ASAP. Get it paid off ASAP and get the paperwork completed and recorded. If she has financial issues, they will force the sale of the contract most likely. As you are unfortunately finding out, buying with another person who you're not in a legal contact with already (like Marriage) is always a bad idea. It'll work out for some but not for many. I'm about to the point of recommending only buying as an individual and not even putting a spouse on the contract depending on the contract size.
