Are my stippling stitches all supposed to be the same size? Seems I'm out of control sometimes not moving fast enough other times moving to fast.

New to quilting and using a new machine I'm not real comfy with thus the reason for practicing on a scrap before I quilt my quilt I got started.

Stitches should all be the same size. The loops and such in the stippling do not need to be the same size. Remember to relax, pactice on some cheap fabric. It does not come fast, you definitely need to get the feel and you will only get that with practice. Good luck!

Ty Madisonznana That is what I thought I can get all the FREE material I'd ever want and more just a matter of going and getting it.

I do a lot of stippling, and it is close to impossible to get even stitches all the time, no matter how slow or fast you go. It's the nature of the beast! I always teach my students what I was taught - put the pedal to the metal and go! Make sure to move the fabric as evenly as possible, i.e., don't jerk it. Otherwise you will get very uneven stitches.

The faster your needle goes, the more consistent your stitches will be. And if some are uneven, that's okay. If anyone looks that closely to your quilt to exclaim that some are uneven, then they need to get a hobby of their own!
