Quiet Verandah room numbers for the Dream?

Hello! I'm drowning in a sea of room choices. We're hoping to sail on the dream, and do a lot of stargazing off our verandah. We're light sleepers though and need a quiet room (no adjoining door). Any suggestions on the best room to pick? I'm thinking the 7th or 8th floor - neither has a kid's club, restaurant, or pool above or below them so quieter. I didn't know if fore, mid, or aft would be better though, and don't want to have to worry about getting an obstructed view. Anyone have a favorite room to share?

It really does depend on your neighbors. That said, yes, 7th or 8th Deck would be good. Looking at a deck plan I have had look being midway between the mid and aft elevators for not a lot of traffic. Maybe an Aft cabin on any ship but the Fantasy, that sometimes seem to have vibration issues. There's sort of a 'mist' over the ocean that meant I really didn't see that many stars, sadly. Oh, and not across from any other inside cabins. I had 7074 once which was rather close to the elevators but it was quiet. You can check cabin reviews up at the top of the forum. SO many rooms are connecting that you'll be hard pressed to find one that isn't. There are two doors between each cabin and I haven't found that to be an issue. So maybe around 7658 or 7160 . . .if you want a bigger cabin, near the area of 7620? If you want to be facing Castaway when docked, choose the starboard side (right). Cabins with an obstructed view will say that when you pick it and there's a write up on the website.

We haven't sailed on the Dream yet, but I can give you our logic behind our room choice! The deck plans will show you if a room is adjoining and we read through room reviews before picking. Your neighbours will really determine the noise levels though - on the Magic we had some very excited kids on one side, and on the other we had people who seemed to just shout from the verandah back into the stateroom to communicate with their party. Not much you can do to avoid that, it just comes down to luck.

We booked 9012 because: 1) it's one of the less-obscured 7A rooms and doesn't have a connecting door; 2) it has rooms above and below to limit noises from public areas; 3) it's forward and we'd read the Dream class aft can have vibration issues. We wanted port side just because we were starboard on our last cruise. Only having one neighbouring verandah (the other neighbouring room is an oceanview) hopefully means it'll be quieter sitting out there... fingers crossed!

My far aft cabin on deck 6 of the Dream was very noisy due to vibrations. The whole stateroom would shake and rattle. If you are looking for a quieter room, I would avoid a room near the laundry rooms, as well as avoiding rooms near the elevators. If you are near one of the elevators with artwork for the Midship Detective Agency game, you may hear a lot of noise from people playing the game. I would also stay away from a stateroom near Pepe the Prawn stateroom 5148 1/2 as it is a popular stateroom to visit and people often knock on the door to see if Pepe is home.

Neighbors can be a problem. We always have at least one that keeps the verandah light on all night. They probably don't realize it is on or which switch controls the light. I've always asked the room attendant to shut it off, but they always seem to turn it back on. So much for dark star gazing.

I avoid rooms across from grey areas shown on deck plans. Those are often service areas with banging doors. I would rather be across from the wall beyond the elevators (directly across from an E on the deck plans). Across from the side walls of interior rooms can be okay.

As the others say, it will depend on your actual neighbors and fellow cruisers.

Good luck.

THank you everyone! I've narrowed it down to 4 rooms (8546, 6568, 7044, 8540, and 7022) so I think it's time to call the travel agent and see what we can get!
