Looking for quiet areas (in any or all) of the parks. Hoping to find quiet corners, etc, to take breath or two from the crowds. We'll be there May 20 to June 3rd. Thanks!

In MK I love (or used to before it became a smoking area) the path between the back of Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland. Seriously one of the prettiest walkways. Just have to deal with gross cigarette smoke now. Man I wish the whole park would go smoke-free.

I also love the riverfront area of Frontierland. Or even taking a ride on the River boat. Very peaceful.

Epcot has tons of quiet out of the way nooks. The back of almost any country...Canada by the waterfall...Japan by the Katsura Grill...China by the terracotta warriors...Morocco out back or in the little museum across from Tangeriene Cafe.

My best quiet tip doesn't work for mid-day breaks, but is a lovely calming way to start the day: at EPCOT RD I like to meander back to France to have breakfast at Le Halles. Everyone else is either staying up front in FW or headed over the Norway/FEA, so the walk to France is relatively people-free and makes the park feel very private and intimate. Plus the pastry selection is divine, so its a win-win.

What do you consider quiet? I don't think there is a spot inside any park that is devoid of some external noise mostly in the form of music.

Steve porter actually did 2 conflicting articles within the last 6 months, one was suggesting quiet spots in magic kingdom and the second was how he couldn't find a quiet spot in magic kingdom so he went to poly. The context of the second was he was working on an article for the website (wdwinfo.com) and while he found tommorrowland terrace to be less than the rest of the park, he ultimately had to leave the park to get away from all distractions.

In MK behind the Christmas Shop is a nice little area with a few benches and trees and most of the time seems to remain pretty quiet. Tom Sawyer Island can be pretty quiet as well. The path mentioned above from Storybook Circus to Tomorrowland is also a good spot.

AK seems to have a lot of little places like on the trails, outside Rafiki's Planet Watch, there was a spot near Tusker House last year we hung out for a few with not many people around.

In Epcot, it would be easy to pop out the back entrance and find some piece and quiet. I know during Flower and Garden once there was an array of flowers and plants right outside the exit and enough space our kids were able to run around a bit while we chilled out. BC is also very close by and the little beach has some chairs, the resort has tables inside and out in various spots and it's usually pretty quiet during the day.

HS we sometimes sit by Echo Lake across from Hollywood and Vine.

Tom Sawyer Island in MK

Not quiet but it is long and relaxing is Universe of Energy with Ellen in Epcot

Innovention building in Epcot over facing The Land pavilion. This would probably be my top pick out of all the parks. It's indoors with nice A/C and also quiet, has tables and chairs, then there's also outlets if you need to charge phones.

MK, behind the Christmas Shop is usually pretty quiet, near the rest rooms by Space Mountain is a bit off the beaten path. There is almost always a spot to sit near the Tangled restrooms next to Small World. Tom Sawyer Island is generally pretty quiet. The rose gardens near the castle can be quiet too.

Epcot, go up into the Canada Pavilion, it is often near empty. Near the back of the UK pavilion is often quiet, except for when the band is playing. The back area of China can be quiet, as well as the outdoor covered area near the new restrooms at the American pavilion. The area outside the Pixar short film festival is usually pretty quiet as well.

DHS . . . I've not found any where in that park that gets really quiet, maybe I haven't looked hard enough.

AK some of the walking trails, especially around the tree of life, can be nice and quiet. The waterside seating behind Flame Tree BBQ can be pretty quiet if you visit outside of the normal meal times.

Here are my quiet spots...more like spots I like to escape too when I need to relax:
Animal Kingdom - Nomad Lounge (outside porch area along side)
Epcot - The benches to the left of Mission Space (it tends to get less traffic flow there), France and Italy - just find a spot and sit and watch the crowd (or Tutto Gusto if we need to get away from the crowds for a while)
Hollywood Studios - nowhere anymore...gotta find a new spot. It was back by Motor Cars Action
Magic Kingdom - The WDW Railroad (a full circle ride is my favorite thing to do (I missed it so much on our trip in January), the little path from Liberty Square to Fantasyland to the left of the castle...it can get crowded but sometimes is a nice spot to hang out. I also agree with everyone else about the walk from Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland

In EPCOT, in England there is a beautiful garden back behind the tea shop (across the main path from Rose & Crown). Not many people go back there, very nice and very relaxing. Shhhhhh ! Don't tell anyone !

Epcot....way in the back part of Morocco....it is quiet and very cool.....the AC from the shop fills the outside area by the fountain and everything is shaded from the tall buildings and narrow hallway.

One of my favorite hideaways in MK is the little side street on the right off of Main Street - I think it's called Center Street. There are some cute little café benches and flower pots at the back and there's rarely anyone there. It's not completely quiet, as there is some ambiance noise - mainly the "music lessons" heard through an open window up above - but it's cute and not too loud or distracting. There are even a couple of pay phones hidden back there, so this area is designed to be a quiet spot.

There's also a wonderful rest area set up in the tent farthest back in Storybook Circus, to the right of where you meet Minnie/Daisy/Donald/Goofy. Chip and Dale were meeting there for a while, but I'm pretty sure they've moved back to Fronteirland now. This tent is set up with lots of comfy arm chairs and small sofas, is completely shaded and very quiet. There are some outlets for charging phones, too.

I like Tom Sawyer's island, too, but it's a bit of a pain to get back there sometimes since you have to take the little rafts.

In Epcot, I recently discovered the little patio area down below the bridge from UK to France. It's not shaded, and the only seating is on the planters, but it's a pretty spot at the edge of the lake with a great view, and it is separated enough from the bridge that it's pretty quiet down there.

In Japan, there's a pretty garden area up above the little koi fish pond. No seating, but a very pretty spot.

The rotunda area in the American Adventure building is beautiful and very quiet in between the Voices of Liberty's performances - there are some padded benches in there, the paintings in there are actually pretty cool when you take the time to look at them, and the American Heritage Gallery is well worth checking out. And, of course, don't miss the Voices of Liberty performances themselves!

Hollywood Studios doesn't really have much. There's a spot in the Chinese Theatre courtyard off to the left (opposite from where the Great Movie Ride line is) that doesn't get *too* much traffic, and you can sort of sit on the curb around the little rock/plant feature there. The Star Wars characters come out from a door near there before their stage show, though, so it just depends on timing. It can be nice to take a bit of time to really look at the handprints/signatures in the courtyard, too - there are some pretty cool ones. (My favorite is Judy Garland's signature with an imprint of the ruby slippers!) There are also a few benches and a short retaining wall you can sit on around Echo Lake near Gertie the Dinosaur's ice cream stand. Again, not really quiet, but less traffic than other areas in the park.

In Animal Kingdom, I love both of the main animal trails - Pangani and Maharajah - plus the little nature trails back behind the Tree of Life. There are a few other little animal exhibit spots that are nice to just rest near - I especially love the otter near Pizzafari when he's visible, but you're right near the main path, so it's not particularly quiet there.

In MK, Columbia Harbor House upstairs is a good spot for us to eat and people watch. Outside of the lunch rush hours we have found ourselves to be all alone up there occasionally.

This is our favorite spot in the World. It's amazing at night to sit and eat an ice cream while everyone else files out of the park. We wait until its just about empty then wander out to a deserted Main Street and watch the kiss good night. Eventually we leave!

It's funny, a lot of people look down the street and see us sitting there so they must think there is something around. They walk down the street look at the dead end and leave again. We giggle every time.

I second Tom Sawyer Island at MK. We get there mid-day when the crowds are busy. The island is quiet, cool and peaceful. After the kids explore the caves, there is a covered porch at the end of the island. It has rocking chairs, checker boards, etc. We sit and eat a packed snack, even have a snooze! I find it humorous that the DIS team seem to hate Tom Sawyer Island. For a parent and kids needing a break, it is like heaven!

At Epcot, our very favourite quiet spot is the English Gardens behind Britain. Lots of benches to sit and rest, no crowds and very quiet.

We've also been known to sit through a long, quiet show (America Pavilion, Hall of Presidents) and have a sleep.

We stay off property so it doesn't make sense to leave half way through the day for a nap. So finding these quiet spots by mid-afternoon has been essential to last the whole day for us.
