Quiet Pool ?

Considering staying at one of the Mods for our next trip and concerned that my kids would be too "loud" for the quiet pools. We'd most likely use the quiet pool fairly early in the morning or later at night for the convenience of being close to our room. Do you think other guests are easily annoyed if the quiet pools have kids splashing/jumping in? I don't like to disturb other guests but would still like to use the quiet pool. Your thoughts???

Quiet pool has nothing to do with noise. Just not themed like the main pools at each resort. No slide. You just have to be quiet if you plan on using the pool when it is officially closed to swimming. Like early morning and late evenings.

The quiet pools at POR AB are usually fairly loud during the day and that's why they're there, for fun! At night they calm down quite a bit but are still fairly busy. We choose a pool view room at POR AB because we love the proximity for a late night swim. We've never been annoyed by guests using the pool. It's all in good fun and its great to see kids exercising and loving life while there.

Currently planning my first ever trip to Disney. It's actually for my honeymoon! We plan to stay in one of the garden suites at the Boardwalk Inn. It looks like there is a quiet pool right near those suites. You mentioned having to be quiet when using a quiet pool when it is officially closed to swimming. What does "officially closed to swimming" actually mean? Are you not supposed to swim in the pool after a certain time? Like would staff come along and kick people out after a certain time?

Based on Disney's own description of the quiet pools my expectation would be that the pools would be more calm. I realize during the day there might be noise and most are off at the parks or at least awake, but since many of these pools are right outside of guests rooms I would expect early mornings and later in evening when many guests are sleeping that the area would be fairly quiet. We do utilize the pools late at night but we are very quiet and talk in whispers to each other. Main Pool hours vary by season and subject to change any given day. Quiet pools were traditionally open 24 hours but after a boy drowned this seems to be more questionable. I have seen noise addressed later in night by CMs and noticed quiet pools empty off hours compared to earlier trips. I haven't stopped to read any signs to know for sure.

Per Disney website to describe quiet pools:

CSR - go for a serene swim in 3 quiet pools

POR – a more relaxing respite

CBR – offer escape for the less boisterous buccaneers of your crew

BWI – guests seeking tranquil swimming experience

They are actually "leisure" pools. They don't have lifeguards or planned activities. The name has nothing to do with the noise level. Your kids are free to play to their hearts content.

We always tell the kids to be respectful of the adults who might be looking for a quieter experience than the main pool and if they get too boisterous we go off to the themed pool. My kids usually want to go to the quiet pool because they are just tapped out on noise crowds and over stimulation. They need the 'serene' pool at BWI to just relax.
I'd be pretty aggravated if I was at the quiet pool and kids were splashing me while they were goofing around - but then again I am in a pool what do I expect

thanks everyone! Sounds like we could try using it and if I think the kids are annoying people or being a bit too loud we could just walk over to the main pool or stop swimming.

This particular pool is one of the truly quietest 'quiet' pools I've seen! Many aren't even aware it's there. I've never seen it with very many guests using it...and it's really pretty there. These pools aren't truly 'closed'...you can basically swim any time you want. You just need to be aware that there are rooms nearby and you shouldn't be making a huge amount of noise. I've seen people swimming in quiet pools at 2am!!!

At the Values, the leisure pools are now lifeguarded during open hours. After hours, there are signs saying the pool is closed, but in my opinion only, there is no enforcement intended. If you're not loud, you can swim at your own risk. I'm a big believer in looking at how rules are actually enforced- and I know many people disagree with that view (and I do respect people who feel that way).

There may be a completely different situation at Mods and Deluxe.
